  1. they must think he will hit eventually. Or, they are thinking he could be a short term option.
  2. how is it trolling? I've been in an ambulance on lifedrives for the past 5 hours, so I didnt get to see the game.
  3. I agree that this yrs Angels team is not the same as yrs past. In yrs past, their rotation kept them in the game and their pen just shut us down while their offense was pesky and scored just enough to win. Now, all we need to do is get to their pen.
  4. So the sox pen lets them down once again. This is now two games in July that they were handed good leads and just couldnt hold em. Since 6/29, the sox pen has gone 28.2IP 33H 19ER 9BB 31K, which is pretty bad The biggest culprits seem to be Masterson (8ER in last 8IP), Delcarmen (6ER in last 7.1IP), and Ramirez (5ER in last 8.2IP). It could be that the sox pen is finally falling back to earth
  5. The bats were silenced by a rookie middle reliever and a lefty who looks like Rich Garces. But the pen made it hold up after Mauer's bomb and Mo was his standard self, albeit with some help. I'll take another win. Go for the sweep today with Liriano on the hill vs Aceves. Should be fun.
  6. the sox typically go half and half vs prospects. They sucked vs Anderson. I bet they will beat the piss out of Cahill
  7. Intriguing. I would much rather try Ryan than keep sending Tomko out there
  8. you take the all star selection. I'll take the rest that CC direly needs
  9. Ells-Kotsay-Green-Kottaras Thats a 6-9 that strikes fear in the hearts of nobody
  10. TB has gone 16-9 over the last month. Kazmir is back and looks like himself again. They sure are scary. I agree. I think the early lead and their early plunge could be their downfall, but they are one solid streak away from being within arms reach
  11. coming from you, that doesnt bother me one bit.
  12. I am not saying that they never wanted him back at the big league level. Far from it. I think they were trying to do what the yankees wanted to do with Hughes this yr. Insulate the player for a season, let them iron out their wrinkles and then fight for a spot in spring training 2010.
  13. I went to med school instead
  14. the sox probably would have liked to have kept Bard in the minors too. But he was getting nothing out of pitching in AAA and they had an opening
  15. See, when you work, sometimes you have downtime. And one of my shifts was a call shift that had me in my call room. This call room has NESN but has a shoddy internet reception, so getting MLB.com is difficult. I have seen all of his starts. I had to gamecast the yankee games in that time. But keep trying to check on me, feel free. Remember, contribution to society. You should try it sometime. That is, after you learn a bit about math and after you take your foot out of your mouth
  16. I said the same thing multiple times. I think the yankees are the better team. I think the sox are the second best team. I expect it go to the wire. And I expect both teams to be playing each other in the ALCS.
  17. you dont seem like much of a thinker there sport.
  18. He has a 2 cent head because he whined about his mechanics being changed, he got completely destroyed in his first true shot at a big league rotation spot and then started complaining about being in AAA. They didnt make their rotation 6 man deep ahead of him without cause.
  19. but that is exactly what they tried to avoid. How else would you read it? Buchholz comes up, fails when given a rotation spot. They sign 2 veterans giving them a total of 6 veterans on the staff for the season. They obviously wanted to have enough depth to avoid calling the kid up this yr, as he isnt even the first option for injury.
  20. No, Aceves went 4 innings a few days ago and 2+ innings a few days before that. So he will fill in for now.
  21. well, he hasnt been productive
  22. No, you arent stuck with Smoltz. That being said, you have a kid in the minors who has great stuff but a 2 cent head at times. And the sox knew that when they decided to keep him in limbo for the entire season by signing 2 guys to fill his spot in the rotation. I highly doubt that they would want him to come to the majors now, in a stretch run with the division being hotly contested. That is the exact opposite experience the sox would want.
