  1. HE IS THROWING STRAIGHT FASTBALLS. HE HAS NOTHING BUT A STRAIGHT FASTBALL. CAN YOU HIT A STRAIGHT FASTBALL?
  2. How in God's name do you K against a guy who is throwing nothing but heat?
  3. Paps will lock it down right now. But he isnt the guy he was. He doesnt locate and he only throws FBs.
  4. Tying run on 1st. Man, the O's are taking the right approach on Paps. He's gonna throw the FB, sit on it and rip it
  5. That is how a lot of the Dominican players come out. They dont lack the raw ability, but learning the game and advancing their approach is the biggest obstacle, IMO.
  6. Ramon Ramirez is imploding. Boy, what happened to him?
  7. The Giants went defense for the first 4 rounds. I like their depth picks in rounds 2-4. Dillard and Joseph could be starters in 2010. Chad Jones is gonna be solid depth behind Rolle and Phillips, and will allow Ross to move back to CB. The Pierre-Paul pick was understandable, but isnt a pick for 2010. Tuck, Kiwanuka, and Umenyiora are all ahead of him on the depth chart. But, if Pierre-Paul can learn the game from them, then he could be dominant. He has insane tools, great size, speed, power. He just hadnt played football enough to have great awareness. The Jets only had 4 picks due to trades. I love three of their picks. Wilson will be the nickel corner behind Revis and Cromartie, but should end up as a starter in a yr or two. I think he ends up being a great CB. McKnight gives Ryan what he had in Leon Washington. Not an all down back, but a good change of pace from Tomlinson and Greene and should team with Greene to be a nice thunder and lightning running game over the long haul. And John Conner in the 5th round projects to be a solid blocking FB who is now the heir apparent to Tony Richardson. The Jets second rounder was a good pick for the long run, but cutting Faneca for this kid was a poor choice. Ducasse is a great story, has great skills and a solid attitude. But he's RAW. So raw, that they are moving him from tackle to guard and hoping he can progress enough to be good enough to replace the future HOFer. Probably not the best idea to drop an anchor from probably the best O line in football and replace him with a raw rookie. Overall, I think the picks from the 2 NY teams were solid. Both teams have early round, raw freak talents surrounding solid picks.
  8. they ruled that a hit?? Seriously, I think Theo has paid off the official scorer's to make his defense argument more sound
  9. He isnt using them in the right spots. They are your setup men. Use them when you have a lead and occasionally when you have a slight deficit. They are on the team to lock down wins, especially when your team is starting out slow.
  10. "Hey, we just took the lead. Let's put our worst reliever in the game!" I just dont understand Francona sometimes. You're up 4 in the 8th. That is the time to step on the throat.
  11. Some players play through pain better than others. Derek Jeter wouldnt tell anyone if his back was bothering him.
  12. My god their bullpen sucks. Seriously, they suck. They have a bright future, but this team might be akin to the 2003 Detroit Tigers
  13. He and JD Drew have a lot of similarities. Except Johnson usually has more severe injuries
  14. Yep, he is forever known as Bungholio
  15. Every time I hear that name I think of Bungholio
  16. Dude, WTF? I do 20 minutes of research and the sox just paste the O's pen. Wow. Matt Albers is AWFUL
  17. They dont have a choice. They tried to spur themselves into the playoff race by signing Hernandez and Tejada 5 yrs ago, but the team wasnt ready. They have to do it the right way to win in the AL East. You establish a strong foundation, then fill in your spots with FA acquisitions
  18. Brian Matusz is a really, really good young pitcher. If the O's play their cards right with the next couple drafts, they could be a really good team come 2013.
