  1. The Yankees were a much better team than everyone last yr, and benefitted from slow starts from TB and Boston. I dont think the Red Sox are on par with NY or TB in terms of talent and need a lot of things to go right for them to win the division or make the playoffs.
  2. You might be waiting awhile Dipre. His defense reminds me of Robby Cano's. Makes the spectacular play, then boots 2 grounders right at him. Remy trying and successfully getting his first error changed to a hit was a joke. The ball hit him in the midsection, that is the definition of a playable ball. That plus his offensive approach. I would teach my kid his approach. He goes up the middle or RCF with almost everything over the plate. But in Boston, he is hitting the ball to the biggest part of the field. And it seems that his power may have started dropping for some reason. He has centered a few balls that sounded good and looked like homers that were caught before the warning track. He might have a big run in him, I dunno. But he is playing hit or miss defense and is currently a singles hitter.
  3. ARod wasnt better than Jeter?
  4. there is a difference between what is good for the game and what is good for the business. The Rays or another small market team is good for the integrity of the game, but it doesnt fill the coffers.
  5. That had been the Yankee formula for yrs. .500 vs the good teams and .700 vs the bad.
  6. A chance to be, not that he is. Right now, Lester isnt even the best pitcher on his own team.
  7. Well, the offense tried to do its part, but only 4 runs off Kazmir and nothing off a pretty mediocre Angels pen isnt gonna get the job done. Vazquez was terrible and Marte compounded the problem by giving up the 3 run homer to Morales. Regardless, 12-6 through the first 18, and a brutal stretch comes to a close. 15 of 18 games vs projected contenders with 12 of those on the road. I'll take it. And we dont see Vazquez for another 5 days
  8. Exactly. There is something wrong with him. Even a sucky pitcher can get their ERA under 9
  9. 4-6 on the homestand, and now off to Toronto.
  10. The sox pen allowed 11ER in 8IP in this series.
  11. that is pretty hilarious. "Well, he was warm." You made the decision to warm him up. Man, that was classic
  12. Gardner back in for Thames.
  13. Boone Logan holds it in check. Cano smacks another bomb. 1 run game with the bullpens in the game
  14. Tito is very much akin to Torre. A great media and team manager, but a horrible in-game manager. Once the personell starts to take a downward dip, the manager becomes exposed. He is a really bad in game manager.
  15. if he accepts the fact that he's an idiot, how is that going to improve his pen management?
  16. The sox had a 3 run lead on the O's and blew it at home. Man, that one hurts. That might be the O's last win until the sox come to Camden
  17. Winning run at the plate. The Orioles seem completely intent on giving the game back to the sox
  18. Dave Eiland said he is the kind of pitcher who needs to be reminded about his mechanics constantly. He does have a bit more complicated a delivery than your standard drop and drive guy. I dont think it is injury related. He just cannot locate anything right now and his FB is slow.
  19. Might be time to send Aceves down and stretch him out. Vazquez has some serious mechanical problem right now. He's not hitting 90mph and he cannot locate the breaking pitches.
  20. Something is wrong with Vazquez. Put him on the DL or something. Anyone is better than him right now
  21. Dont worry. Vazquez is doing his best to blow his game too
