  1. This guy just has us by the balls. And, we arent working him too hard. He might be able to hand it directly to Bailey, which wouldnt be a good thing
  2. That was big of you, and I mean that. I accept your apology.
  3. He was turned around the entire AB. This guy is a mindf*** on the hill. Gotta wear him down
  4. You are taught to sit fastball and adjust breaking pitch.
  5. Braden was exactly the kind of pitcher I hated facing. The lefty with change of speed ability, movement on everything and crappy velocity. I would much rather face a fireballer than this kind of pitcher, and most of the Yankee players seem to be agreeing with me with their weak hacks
  6. CC rights the ship, but it might be too late. Braden is a good pitcher and their pen is pretty good
  7. I was asked if I thought they were fluke wins. I gave you my answer. How is that whining?
  8. Lets see. They win on Tuesday due to umpire error and a 2 run gift from a typically solid defensive OFer They win on Wednesday because Julio Borbon doesnt touch home plate on a play that he beat a throw. They were sloppy wins, but they are wins nonetheless. But don't pretend that you didnt have help.
  9. Iglesias does fit into the defense and pitching model. The kid has a hell of a glove.
  10. Joe wanted OF defense first since Oakland has a lot of ground out there. Thats why he started Gardner two nights ago against a lefty. Overall, y228, I have to ......agree.......with.........Gom. Goddamnit, that f***ing hurt. Joe proved last yr that he uses April as a time to figure out his bullpen. And from there, he'll slot guys into roles. I think he has two roles in the pen sewn up and the rest up for grabs. So, unless NY has a close lead in the 8th or 9th, he could bring anyone in
  11. Hughes was dominant last night. Granted, it was the A's, but it is pretty tough to throw 7 no-hit innings. His stuff has improved and his location was much better. When he came up, he was a curveball first pitcher and it was a loopy curve. Now, he is a FB first pitcher capable of throwing 92-93 on the corners, he can cut it, he can run it. He uses a spike curve now to compliment his pitches and occasionally throws a changeup. He is becoming a very, very good pitcher. In terms of the offense, once again, we got a pitcher out. He came out after 6 innings as he was closing on 100 pitches, even though Sheets was pretty tough. If we can win games scoring 3 runs, then this team is gonna be f***ing great.
  12. Once again, they hit tonight. Congrats, my bad for calling a $170 million dollar teams joke of a lineup a joke
  13. Man, escaped my memory. Yeah, Iglesias is the next in line, my bad.
  14. and he's sticking it to me how? The lineup is a joke. I would LOVE to see that lineup for 162. They just happened to hit tonight.
  15. which prospect is next in line for the SS position, again? Jed, I cannot shake an injury or illness, Lowrie?
  16. Arent you in England? Seriously, England. Why do you care about baseball? I thought your national pastime was bad teeth and wife-beating.
  17. Backpedal? Maybe I should sigh also? Do you think McDonald is gonna keep this up?
  18. actually, my edit was prior to me reading your post.
  19. Any lineup can get hot on one day. Darnell McDonald will eventually remember that he's Darnell McDonald
  20. so, 29 points of OPS is worth the downgrade defensively? It isnt even a statistically significant difference. Hell, both have been circa .700 or below their entire careers sans 2 fluke yrs from both sides. The offense argument is f***ing hilarious. The ONLY thing you have here is the OBP. That is the only significant change, IMO. 40 points of OBP is a hell of a lot more convincing of an argument than 29 points of OPS
  21. I think we are witnessing the end of David Ortiz' career tonight
  22. the thing about Scutaro is that he's been an upgrade for exactly one season. Scutaro, for the most part, is a sub .700OPS player.
  23. Suns reminds me of adam123 a LOT.
