  1. Freddy Sanchez just won the NL batting title, come on guys, be baseball fans. I agree that he will be a great player. He and Jason Bay are at least a little bit of hope for the Pirates. I'm not exactly positive what it has to do with Jeff Bagwell, but thats ok.
  2. a new pitching coach could certainly stimulate his abilities, and I think he will improve from this year, but adjusting to the AL does not take that long. He did not improve over the season
  3. How about Joe Torre, do you think George has the balls to fire him?
  4. the highest paid player in the game batting 8th in the lineup. What does that say besides flop and head case?
  5. i would easily trade Manny for a good young pitcher such as Ervin Santana and a good infield prospect, plus have the opportunity to sign a myriad of free agent outfielders: Soriano Gary Matthews Jr (my top pick) Carlos Lee is out there Gary Sheffield Jose Guillen Plus, I want to sign Mark DeRosa as a fairly cheap utility player who can hit and play count 'em, 6 positions, OF, 2nd, 3rd and SS
  6. too bad he did not see himself in the Hall of Fame
  7. Gabe has been a very good player, mostly in the clubhouse for us. It is his time to step away, but he deserves a nice good-bye and thank you.
  8. Two Words: Craig Monroe
  9. so, is anyone going to make this or should I? If I make it can I get 8 people to come?
  10. the one BoSox34 started, it is called Talksox fantasy football league on yahoo
  11. wow, that sounds vaguely familiar
  12. is anyone even paying attention to the league besides me?
  13. i don't know if Loretta will start next year, but he is undoubtebly worth having on the team. He did not do anything terrible to warrant his departure. He is getting old, but he could actually help Pedroia
  14. Who the sox need to DFA OR Released none come to mind Who the sox need not resign Trot Doug Mirabelli Foulke Who the sox need to move Manny Ramirez Lowell who they should resign Gonzo Wake for the pen Loretta who sould sign as FA Matsuzaka Schmidt Roger Clemens Gil Meche Woody Williams Dan Kolb Russ Springer Gary Matthews Jr. Mark DeRosa what big moves sould sox do this offseason Manny Ramirez and Abe Alvarez to Astros for Brad Lidge, Wandy Rodriguez, Chris Burke and Jason Lane or Ramirez package to Angels for Ervin Santana, Casey Kotchman, Juan Rivera and Donnelly or Escobar? Lowell to Padres for Scott Cassidy and Scott Linebrink Obviously I do not expect all of this to happen, but some of it would be nice.
  15. will he? yes, should he? that could be arguable with Girardi on the market
  16. you know, the Marlins have shown that the moves that look completely retarded can pay off, but I do not see the upside in this one. If Girardi gets a decent team to work with, I think he will win a World Series within 3 years
  17. i think loretta would be a great guy to have around the clubhouse, but in a bench role. He can play 1st as well as second. He can probly do just as well staying as going, so I think it is a possibility he could stick around and tutor Pedroia some more.
  18. here's an idea, lets fire Francona too and hire Girardi
  19. this is absolutely ridiculous. Wallace I can understand, but what in gods name did Jackson do to get fired?
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2610544
  21. I'm taking the Tigers in 5 as well. People keep forgetting that the White Sox pulled this exact same trick last season. But the Tigers are more likeable
  22. I really have a soft spot for the Padres as well. I want to see Cla Meredith do well
  23. this might as well be the NLCS
