  1. that was a great one handed tipped catch Plex just made, especially since I have Eli in the Talksox league
  2. OK, hope everybody has their team set, hopefully we will have a good season
  3. QB J. Delhomme QB D. Brees WR S. Smith WR T. Houshmandzadeh WR T. Glenn RB R. Brown RB S. Jackson TE A. Gates BN C. Taylor BN L. Maroney BN D. Williams BN J. Addai BN T. Williamson K S. Graham DEF Carolina D M. Brown D T. Polamalu BN S. Merriman
  4. in my private league, 8 person, I got Brown, Jackson, Chester Taylor and Laurence Maroney, but I plan on trading someone for a QB. I also have DAngelo Williams, who i think will eventually start this season

  6. the Miami/Tech series favors the team that lost the previous year and the away team, I think we win, if Kyle Wright has to make a play for them to win, Tech will win. GT was supposed to beat us last year in Blacksburg, College Gameday was there and everything but we clobbered them. 52-7, I don't think they will beat us, especially at home. BC I'm worried about because Tech always loses that game we aren't supposed to, and they always play us close up there. It will definitely be an interesting season, and I think a lot of top ranked teams are very overrated, like Notre Dame and Texas. Hokie Hi. By they way, do you go to many games? I dunno where you live, have you ever been to a game?
  7. if you are saying I'm from PA, I'm not, maybe you noticed I have said I am from Virginia and a diehard VT fan, I just think people are underestimating Penn State.
  8. the Padres are going to win the wild card
  9. we have pretty much 0 percent chance of winning this game, unless Tavarez goes like an inning and then Paps comes in for 8 or something. Nevermind, no chance
  10. where in Virginia are you, I'm from about 2 hours from Blacksburg, now live in Richmond, but I havent missed a home Saturday game since like 1995, been at every important game in the program's recent history. I do understand that there are lots of fair weather fans though, and I hate them too. Ever since 99, the diehards have taken hits because of an increased number of bandwagoners paying to get better parking and seats, it really sucks. There is a 40 year old guy that now sits in front of me that apparently has watched Tech football for approximately 2 seasons, as he once told his wife after a blocked kick that it was "very rare for a college team to block kicks, and this is only like the 2nd time I've seen Tech do it." It probly annoys me more than anything, but yes, Go Hokies! By the way, there is supposedly a deal in the works for Tech and Nebraska to play each other in a home an home, maybe starting next year.
  11. I didn't see one, so before the season starts, post your top 10 or something. I'm sure a lot of you are BC fans, and as a Hokie fan, I think we could be upset by you guys this year, in Boston. A segment of my college football preview: If anyone actually wants to read the entire 7 page preview, let me know. By the way, the Tech pick isn't a homer, its just because nobody knows that our QB doesnt have to be great for us to win.
  12. MLB- Red Sox College Sports- Diehard Hokie NFL- Patriots, with interest in all Virginia Tech alum players NBA- Celtics, but recently I love LeBron and am rooting for the Cavaliers except when they play the Celtics. EPL- Chelsea NHL- I root for the Bruins, but this league sucks.
  13. Ok, the Miami receivers are nothing that special, while they are better than the Pats, but the Miami passing game is not what will make that team. It is all about Ronnie Brown. I think Tom Brady can keep our offense at the same level as the Super Bowl years, especially if Maroney keeps looking as good as he has. Troy Brown is not dead yet, and Reche Caldwell is not a slouch. I think we should be more worried about the secondary, and whether or not it can stop some teams like the Bengals and Colts, because the corner back position is extremely weak.
  14. i watched the pirates win last night, and you know the cubs suck when they lose pathetically to one of the most pathetic teams in the league
  15. The Bears are reportedly interested in Branch, and i think we could think about it if they were to offer a decent player from their secondary
  16. wake should hit the pen next season anyway
  17. IMO Mario Williams was the lesser of the two ends at NC State. Teams that could let their o-lines play normally against them, the good teams, held Williams completely useless. The games that he impressed in were games that the bad teams attempted to take away Manny Lawson and John McCargo, giving Williams the opportunity to rush. I'm sure he is not a bad player, but when we look back in 20 years, maybe even 5, Williams legacy will be the bust the Texans took over Reggie Bush
  18. i also think hes goin to the cubs
  19. i dunno if we want a lot of mixing, but if u wanna talk sox, welcome
  20. i think we need to casually and appreciatively show Timlin and Trot Nixon the door this offseason. They were keys to our team for a long time, but their era is up.
  21. Burrell was drafted as a third baseman
  22. i don't know about a defense in the first round, I think he is off by saying that Rudi Johnson should go 8th. Ronnie Brown is a top 6 pick in most drafts
  23. pierre is not my choice, might as well keep coco and add a couple stolen bases, which we don't use anyway
  24. didnt it say that he was hospitalized last weekend in Boston, so it is past, not now
  25. by the way, Joe Castiglione, the Sox radio announcer, teaches a class at Northeastern
