  1. Projected Lineup 1B Kevin Youkilis SS Orlando Cabrera DH David Ortiz CF Andrew Jones RF JD Drew LF Wily Mo Pena 3B Willy Aybar C Jason Varitek 2B Dustin Pedroia Rotation D. Matsuzaka C. Schilling J. Papelbon R. Clemens J. Beckett Bullpen CL- Dan Kolb SU- Timlin Scott Schoenweis Scot Shields Breslow Hansen This would include a Manny trade looking something like this: Manny to Angels David Murphy, other prospect to Braves from Sox Willy Aybar, Andrew Jones from Braves to Sox Juan Rivera from Angels to Braves Orlando Cabrera, Scot Shields to Sox from Angels
  2. Not too bad, but a little optimistic getting Billingsley, Jones if that is one trade I also do not see Schmidt in Boston, nor do I see Lugo. My projected lineup next post.
  3. Kemp is a very impressive player. He played a decent amount in the bigs last season. He is a doubles and homers guy who actually stole 6 bases in 52 games, and has good speed in the outfield. I mentioned the dodgers option in the other thread, I think the "should we trade manny" one in "Talk Sox"
  4. I have always liked Counsell, one of the more underrated players in the league.
  5. Yeah, the Mulder pick surprised me too. I am also a little google-eyed over the Gagne pick. Cleveland does not seem right.
  6. Throw in 3B Willy Aybar from Atlanta and I could definitely go for that.
  7. Here is a Manny trade for everyone to consider: (just my idea) Manny Ramirez and maybe Mike Lowell? or a medium prospect for Howie Kendrick, Orlando Cabrera and Scot Shields Or to Dodgers for Kemp, Nomar and Billingsley. Frankly, I am looking for a corner infielder, and it does not matter which position, because Youk can play either. Mike Lowell can be upgraded and there are tons of guys who would do the trick. Orlando Cabrera is my top pick for SS.
  8. i think he can be better than Adam Dunn. He can be the right fielder. Papa Jack did wonders for him in very little time last season. Now we have someone else to work with him. All he needs is a full time job. Give him a chance.
  9. the Yankees and Mets are the top players there, correct?
  10. hopefully we would get some bait for another trade
  11. I definitely see Youk staying. I absolutely agree on Murphy and Clement. I also see the Sox trying to sell Abe Alvarez as a good prospect, even though he is no more than mediocre.
  12. Baez was a legitimate closer option. Albeit a safety valve in our search, he is definitely in the top 5 options
  13. i agree, I would take Billingsly and Kemp, the main guys in Olney's article for Manny With the Padres: Linebrink, Dave Roberts and a prospect would do it
  14. thats huge, the D-Rays get some pitching too. I like it for the D-Rays just as well
  15. sorry for the accusation, but is Gom Ted Williams as well?
  16. I think he has won one more championship than Brian Cashman in the last 5 years. The Yankees have won no WS champs in Epstein's tenure. Be quiet.
  17. I'm not saying Drew is not better than Trot or Wily Mo, but the fact is Drew is only going to give us 3 seasons, and he will probably be in decline. Wily Mo is coming up, and with consistent playing time, which he has not gotten, could move into Drew's category. Bringing in Drew is just another hinderance to the development of Wily Mo, a short term fix.
  18. ESPN report says Cutler will start
  19. exactly, the same thing Drew does, not much. He is injured too much. Wily Mo has the potential to put up essentially the same numbers as Drew if he is a consistent starter
  20. if we are going to sign JD Drew, we might as well keep Trot Nixon. We do not need a right fielder. We need to let Wily Mo mature
  21. im almost completely on board with this. It would not kill me if WMP was traded, but another prospect might be better. I would love for Cabrera to come back. We found a guy that could handle Boston, had good defense and good bat, but then we let him go!
  22. he has already been something like that before, so it is equal, one good one bad. We have to see which was a fluke. There is plenty of reason for optimism
  23. i would trade Crisp for Linebrink any day of the week. I would not trade Wily Mo Pena unless Meredith was involved, or Peavy of course.
  24. Here are my NBA Power Rankings, my duty on Sportscolumn.com
  25. I do not believe there is any correlation between the two, at all
