  1. Speaking of a little showmanship, CBS completely ignored the play where Vrabel sacked Rivers and then did the "Lights out" off to the side. It was perfect.
  2. I think that challenge by Marty probly won the Pats the game. That was a complete shift in the game
  3. Let's give Jason Grimsley an invite!! Not.
  4. All the obvious Red Sox choices, such as my user name, but I want to name my non-Sox favorites. Pedro Martinez and Nomar Garciaparra are probably my two favorite players ever, even though they left. I try and tune into watch Carlos Zambrano's starts everytime they are on WGN or ESPN because he is the most exciting pitcher since Pedro. I love Huston Street, closer for tha A's, just the way he gets guys out. I like Marcus Giles, Mark DeRosa and Wes Helms among current big leaguers because I watched them when they were minor leaguers in Richmond. I root for local guys from Virginia like Justin Verlander, Sean Marshall (whose brother was released by the Sox), David Wright, Brandon Inge and Sean Casey. Retired favorites include Otis "the old man" Nixon who had a stint with the Sox in 1994, but played mostly with the Braves and Twins, Rich Garces, as well as BJ Surhoff. Manny Ramirez has played in every Major League Baseball game I have ever been to.
  5. In other sports: I have always hated Jason Taylor, Peyton and Eli Manning, Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb
  6. Jason Giambi If we are including announcers, the woman on the Yankees radio and Michael Kay A-Rod Jorge Posada (by far my most hated player)
  7. as much as that is nice to think for us Red Sox fans, McGwire pulled the game out of the dark ages, and I could not care less if he was taking steroids, especially since at the time, they were legal.
  8. I'm very interested in watching prospects. I have posted in this forum quite a bit.
  9. absolutely agree
  10. ugh. He cannot be looking at getting too much more than the Pats are willing to pay can he? He is not elite, just very good.
  11. I'm pretty sure he would not have put his hand over the lens if he wanted his picture taken.
  12. Belichick moved a camera man out of the way to get to Mangini, because the mob was blocking his way. I thought it was appropriate.
  13. I would hope we make an attempt to keep Asante, since he has been head and shoulders the best cover guy on the team. We really need to get another cover guy in my opinion.
  14. Deron Washington (Tech Forward) made one of the highlight reel plays of the year. Video
  15. I'd like to point out that Virginia Tech defeated Duke in ovetime in Durham, avenging last year's miracle shot that robbed Tech of a win. This is the second time in 3 years they have beaten Duke
  16. I realize that, but he was not alone.
  17. I think Delcarmen has the stuff to do it, and is the closest of the bunch, with the least use elsewhere and the best choice for more than 1 year.
  18. Saban's entire intention is money and getting as much media time as possible apparently. Eventually, people will quit hiring him due to his inability to stick with something.
  19. I'm from Virginia, have no massachussetts ties and like all the boston pro teams. Go figure. I started liking the Sox, and then found out I loved the sports culture of Boston
  20. I would call Lowrie a prospect beyond a shadow of a doubt, and Spann seems to be a legitimate major league prospect, the rest are iffy at best.
  21. Let me make it clear, I do not necessarily agree with the BCS, but I think bowls are an improtant part of college football and should be kept in place.
  22. Martinez has shown dramatic improvement, since last season he played in the exact same league and his ERA was 4.58, and he gave up many more walks.
  23. Thats fine, whatever, but I bet if a Giants fan came along he would want Tiki Barber to play football because he is a great player.
  24. Here is a question. What about Foulke? That flurry of reports that he was going to Cleveland went away and he has not signed. Do you think he may come back to Boston and give it another shot?
  25. I may not have made that clear. I am not blaming the Giants performance on him. I am saying that the team has a ton of potential, and did not live up to it this season, and most guys would have the drive and the will to try and help the team get to where it can be. Barber has had no major injuries to speak of.
