Are we better off without Schilling?
NomahsHammSammich replied to NomahsHammSammich's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
You are a cocky punk. First off..Yankee fans are sub-human, vile, filthy creatures who think their shat doesn't stink. Secondly you are acting like Lester is a bum.. Check his minor league stats friend...they are similar to your HERO Phillip Hughes..and he is a lefty. If Lester is throwing strikes..which he has been during his minor league outings..he will be an under 4 ERA pitcher this year and maybe a heckuva lot better . I will GUARANTEE you that. He has #2 stuff right now. Schilling has for the most part SUCKED against the Yankees. Tavarez and Lester can handle that lineup better. Lester because his cutter can get in on Arod and Jeter and he can give a diffcult look to their lefties Damon/Matsui/and Abreu... Tavarez has pitched very well against the Yankees this year..hasn't he beaten them twice? I think you are giving Schilling a backhanded Yankee-Ballwash because you want Schilling to continue to go out and get Crushed by the Yankees lineup who haven't been able to solve Tavarez and who probably won't fare too much better against Lester. Yankee fans are so transparent. -
Looks like we won;t need to have a 6 man rotation...Schill will most likely be headed to the DL.

I know this may be an unpopular viewpoint to take..but after seeing his last 2 outings I am quite sure we are better off without him...the way he pitched against COL and ATL. I seem to remember(and I am sure I am not alone) thinking "Curt. if you just win this game 6 for us....I don't care what you do the rest of your career...you can collect your remaining salary and go to Tahiti for all I care...just get this surgery done and win this thing for us." I think all of us were hoping we could have both...but alas..over the 2nd half of last season and this first half we have seen what Curt Schilling is...a #4 or 5 pitcher. He CAN be effective..but he rarely string together consecutive excellent outings...or even 3 QS's in a row... Aces through#3's can do this...Curt cannot. Moving ahead..Tavarez is a more effective pitcher than Schilling is at this point. He throws harder..and has ball has much more movement in and out of the zone.... I also think Lester will be as effective..or even morseoe than Schilling... His cutter is nasty and if he throws strikes..he is very difficult to hit. I expect Lester to come and make an immediate positive impact. I am very concerned about Lowell. If this ligament thing is as serious as it is being reported...we need to find an answer. We either need to go out and get a powerful DH...and use Papi at 1st(last resort) or trade for Texeira or Helton and move Youks to 3rd. Lowell was a key component and I don;t think moving Papi to 1st helps this team..especially with potentially erratic throws from Lugo and Youks. Helton and Tex are both Smooth with the leather. I also think Timlin is done. Time to start looking for another bullpen arm..

Curt Schilling to fly back to Boston for MRI

Jon Lester....c'mon down! -
Read my suggestions thread..see what you think. My problem with Drew is not inability to draw walks..but moresoe swinging at bad pitches to K or pop out..or ground out weakly to 2nd. His plate disipline has been terrible. He can still draw walks..but too many times he gets himself out swinging at terrible pitches. If he had sluggers power numbers..this would be acceptable..but he has punch and judy sissy numbers...he should be more selective.

Stick Willy Mo in CF... at least with Willy Mo there is a threat of him doing something. I think if he got into an everyday groove he could actually be a productive player. His defense is horrnendous..but CF is actually less spacious than RF in Fenway so I think he would be a little less than an average CF.,... Crisp is one of the worst statistical hitters in baseball..period. He has had almost a year of AB's since his injury and has proven time and time again that he is a horrific hitter. He had a .272 OBP and .572 OPS going into tonight... Lugo also has a .270 OBP and this clown hit leadoff for most of the 1st half.. I cannot believe someone started a thread on here bemoaning Ortiz and Manny? Are you freaking kidding me? I think it is amazing that they have over 30 RBI's COLLECTIVELEY with Lugo and Crisp hitting 1 and 2 for a good portion of the year so far! My god! The Braintrust should know by now that Coco and Lugo suck. Crisp should now be relegated to 4th outfielder and pinch running duties. Give Willy Mo his AB's and see what he can do until the trade deadline nears. Next...BENCH LUGO IMMEDIATELY>..He is a below average-average defensive SS who statisticall has the worst average and OBP combination of any strarting SS in Major League Baseball... Star Cora. I know Cora is nothing special...but at least he can play a VERY high level SS and chip in some clutch hits now and again. Having Cora at SS gives us a VERY good defensive infield. Use Lugo to pinch run late in games. The order should now be Drew Pedroia Ortiz Manny Youkilis Lowell Tek Willy Mo Cora That lineup gives us the best chance to win. I think Drew may be good at the top of the lineup once he gets used to it..he seems to still be able to draw walks once in awhile..and I think Pedroia is an ideal(contact) 2 hitter. Maybe get some hit and running going with Drew..he can still run pretty well. When this fails..Theo will need to make a deal...but I think right now..this coulkd save us some games.

good point..I am just sickened by the lack of judgement by Theo...and further sickened that some people in Red Sox Nation still seem to think it is 2004 and are too busy constructing Theo's Shrine in Kenmore square to realize he isn't a very good GM...and he has too many holes for a team with a $150 mill payroll. I am sorry for being abrasive..I am venting at the organization and Theo..and the 3 worthless wastes of semen we have in our lineup. I mean no harm to all of you..I know all of you are just as disappointed as I am.. Sorry for those I have offended... If I spouted this s*** to my fiance' I would be ..uhhh...de-fianced??? Peace
-
I knew none of you would step up and admit you were wrong..You guys all thought it was a joke... Yeah..I hope you all enjoy the Yankees blowing by us if these holes are not filled. I have been a Red Sox fan since age 6./..I am 34.. Evey loss hurts and I have not missed more than 5 games in the last 15-20 years... I live and die with this team,....but some of you need to take off the pnik hats and put down the pom poms. I am the 1st one to praise this team when they are playing hard and making good personnel moves..but all 3 of these moves I was against since day 1. Drew was the only one I didn;t think was 100% doomed from the get go..I may have given him too much credit. Where is this great plate discipline? He has been horrific. I am also sick of Theo getting a free pass. He is lucky he has Henry's DEEP pockets to bail him out of all the stupid moves he has made. For every good move he has made..he has made two terrible ones. He is the most obverrated GM in sports...coming in a close 2nd is Cashman. ..but most of Cashman's blunders have not been as a result of talent eval...but more of getting players with questionable health records and rolling the dice...he has gotten burned by injuries while Theo has been burned by HEINOUS judgement in talent evaluation..Theo is bad.. wake up.

How much blame do Ortiz and Manny deserve?
NomahsHammSammich replied to jacksonianmarch's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
They deserve no blame at all....Their production is down because there are 3 No-hit, automatic outs in our lineup. Drew/Coco/and Lugo are KILLING this team. Anyone who doesn't see this is either legally blind or actually does have their head planted firmly in their lower sigmoid colon. Manny and Ortiz are lucky to have seen enough pitches to put up the numbers they have. The Yankees will pitch around them NONSTOP unless we upgrade one or two of these useless clowns(J.D. Spew, Choco Stiff, and Lugo-no-speak-a-base-hitta). Theo really s*** the bed with these three stiffs. -
I hope this f***ing Hayseed blows out his shoulder so we can get some money back..he is killing us.
-
All of you idiots sat there and told me I was making a big deal about nothing when we were 14.5 games up...now that is 7.5 maybe some of you know-nothing retards will wake the f*** up.. Don't you get it???? We got out to this great start because of "over their head" performances by the staff and Lowell+Youks. Now that they are cooling off..we are seeing the HUGE holes I spoke of. The Geniuses on this site in their infinite wisdom called me names and acted like I was totally off base..lol..what do you think now morons? Lugo/Derew/and Coco are basically automatic outs. Lugo is statistically one of the worst hitters in major league baseball sporting a .270 OBP..Coco is right there with him.....Drew is nothing more than a 5th outfielder... They are all USELESS and have NO chance of turning it on.....NONE of them. Lugo was absolutely abyssmal in the 2nd half last year and has continued his pathetic play. Coco sucked all year...and continues to suck..so he makes a few catches..Ellsbury is TWICE the fielder and I guarantee he can handle the stick at least as well as Choco Stiff. Drew is a pussy..he has no business in a town that actually cares about baseball.. This sackless Hayseed doesn't give a s*** win or lose..as long as he goes to heaven. This team will easily be caught by the Yankees if we don't address the 3 GAPING holes in our lineup. You gotta go out and get an IMPACT player for one of these f***ing clowns or we will be lucky to make the playoffs..nevermind the division.

June 7th @ Oakland - Curt's Near No-No
NomahsHammSammich replied to ORS's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
I am with you bro. I still am feeling a little down..I really wanted to see the No-No.. Doesn't mean I am not glad we won...just that they are very rare and I would have liked to see Curt get one. -
June 7th @ Oakland - Curt's Near No-No
NomahsHammSammich replied to ORS's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
One of the best games I have ever seen pitched...TOTAL control from start to finish. I am really deflated though..I was getting chills the entire 9th inning...I really wanted this for Curt and the team. I guess that's what happens when you shake Tek off...but he pitched a his tail off..he should make the call. Wow..that was really close to being a perfect game. Drew, Lugo, and Crisp still suck. -
Worthless players that need to go..now.

NomahsHammSammich replied to NomahsHammSammich's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
I am just pissed off and venting. I am pissed that I have to work and stayed up for that s***. I am pissed that Coco Crisp hits like a 5th grade nancy boy. Drew is a joke. And pretty much everything I said was true....cept maybe Wakes..I love the guy...but he is frustrating as hell to watch...add to it the fact we get his big Shnozzed personal catcher who is better at preening in the mirror after games than hitting a fastball. -
Coco Crisp....the guy hits like a little b..itch. He is an automatic out....Deal him for whatever you can get... At this point...Ellsbury cannot do any worse. At least with Willy Mo you have the THREAT of the LONG Ball... Coco's only threat is a drag bunt...he is pathetic. J.D. Drew...he is a pussy. He swings like a 90 year old man. No wonder they took so long to finalize his deal...He has perfected the "soft as a baby's ass" grounder to second. I know..due to his ridiculous contract we are probably stuck with him. I hope he blows his shoulder out..at least we can be rid of him at minimal cost. J.C. Romero....absolutely putrid... The guy walks more guys than he K's...his whip is above 2.00! He should be in AA with those numbers... He is a waste of space..I am sure he will be LONG gone when Timlin and Lester return...thank god. Two guys I would love to see gone are Lugo and Mirabelli.. Wtf is Lugo's problem??? .220?? Are you freaking kidding me? $10 mill for a .220 hitter who is at best, an average defensive SS? I dont care how many SB's or RBI's he has..he has been absolutley horrific at the plate. Again...with his ridiculous contract..we are stuck with him. Mirabelli is the biggest JOBBER in the big leagues..This clown hits at single A level. He has NO discipline and has a swing as big and long as his Gargantuan Shnozz. If it wasn't for Wakefield he would be selling condoms at 7-11. I am also just about fed up with Wakefield...he has sucked real bad lately...and it would almost be worth getting rid of Wakefield to not have to see Mirabelli embarrass himself at the plate anymore. I think we are better off with Tavarez starting than Wakefield anyhow..I think Julian and Lester are better than Wakes.. Sorry if that is unpopular..but it is true.. We need to get a good backup catcher. Trade for Saltamachia from ATL or Damian Miller from Milwaukee...someone,..anyone...when Wakefield pitches we have to have 3 automatic outs in the lineup in Drew/Mirajobber and Choco Stiff. Get a decent hitting backup catcher....and possibly deal Bowden/Murphy/Crisp/MDC/and Hansen for Ichiro or Tori Hunter... We have the team to win it all this year with a few adjustments.

The Red Sox will finish 3rd in the AL East
NomahsHammSammich replied to Gom's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Who is your opening day starter? Carl Pavano? LMFAO!.. Nothing more needed to be said. -
On one hand you have a 1-5 of Lugo/Youks/Papi/Manny/Drew... arguably one of the best in the game... Then you have 6-9... Lowell(decent)....Varitek(terrible hitter), Crisp(equally inept), and Pedroia(hasn't shown any signs of being able to handle Major League pitching). The Pitching staff is great...but as good as it is...our 6-9 is absolutely Horrific. I would like to hear some suggestions on how the Sox can fix this gaping abyss which resides 6-9 in the Sox lineup. My first order of business would be to get Helton. Trade Lowell and a prospect and eat a good portion of the contract. Helton put on 25 pounds and his back is in great shape. He is the type of hitter who could really use Fenway to his advantage. Boggs with MORE power and leather. I like Lowell' presence on this team and he can still contribute...but like Lowell himself said.."I would trade me for Todd Helton in a HEARTBEAT."

Just hit Manny..just hit. Next year we trade Manny and sign Arod to play 3rd.... game, Set, Match!
