  1. Another note on salary, if the Phillies do sign Lee they would probably try to trade Joe Blanton, who has 2/17 left on the books. They may have to eat some salary but it would still make a dent. (SoxSport beat me to it)
  2. While the loss of Werth hurts, Domonic Brown is ready to take over and I think he's going to be very good. He won't make up for Werth's numbers this year, but I'm excited to see him get a starting role.
  3. The Phillies would have the best rotation in this generation. Halladay-Lee-Oswalt-Hamels. Holy s***.
  4. Uh, stop being 12 years old everybody. It's the internet.
  5. Martin is too small of an acquisition to be considered a "f*** you" to Boston. That would be childish. The Sox can sign Austin Kearns next, it'll be a huge slap in the face. I could buy the idea that the Yankees learned they aren't getting Lee, and have a Montero-for-ace trade ready to go.
  6. Do you remember when the summer games went on sale last year or when they will this year?
  7. The offseason is very young and only one of the relievers they have targeted (Downs) has been signed. I'm not worried yet.
  8. Jacko, thoughts on Greinke if you don't land Lee?
  9. It's not a question of Martin vs. McDonald. Martin would be the starting catcher, McDonald would be a backup outfielder.
  10. He's still arbitration eligible, but I don't see the need. Cameron is the 4th outfielder and Kalish is readily available in AAA.
  11. Interesting thoughts from Kevin Goldstein of BP: Thoughts? I think it's true of almost every big contract that in the back half, the player is not worth it. But that's usually the only way to get the talent in the front half.
  12. Wait so Jacko, are you saying these are not real? I could have sworn...
  13. I am pretty sure I own that shirt and that tie. Am I Dustin Pedroia? Who knows?
  14. So from what I've gathered, there were tweets, but they were ********, but now there are more tweets? Hint: They're probably still ********.
  15. He's not living up to our normal All-Star left fielder standards of speech? I think I'll live.
  16. Can you explain more about the virtual waiting room? How do they show the progress?
  17. Even if Olivo was an option, I'm not a huge fan of a sub-.300 OBP.
  18. Exactly.
  19. I think they finish over .500. Jennings and Brignac are very promising players and if they hold on to Garza their rotation is still quite good. Bullpen certainly is taking a hit, but the offseason also is still young.
  20. In that case, Downs is absolutely worth it.
  21. Howdy. I'm in Maryland too. It's a nice place.
  22. Does that mean the Sox lose the pick they got from Detroit (17th or 19th, I don't recall)?
  23. I don't think splitting up the lefties and righties is worth having Martin hit 6th over Ortiz and Drew.
