  1. Damn, why can't Fox show the end of the Bengals-Eagles?
  2. Trades are a definite possibility, naptown. Plenty of directions to go.
  3. Lowe was pretty solid in 2005, but I'm pretty sure you mean 2004. It's true that he was terrible in 2004, but he would have a much better infield in 2009, which makes a difference for him. Not all the difference, but some. As for Robertson/Willis, if either of them crack the rotation Opening Day, I suggest you hide the women and children.
  4. Penny sucks. In his whole career (all NL), the last time he's had a sub 1.20 WHIP was 2001. He was miserable in his half season in 2008, and even in 2007 when he had a 3.03 ERA, he also had a 1.30 WHIP, in the NL West. Pass.
  5. Milwaukee hitting coach. Doubt he's ready to retire.
  6. If they had suspended him, would it be without pay? If not, why else would they go through the formalities?
  7. I would be willing to do it.
  8. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/10/16/2008-10-16_yankees_2009_plan_starts_with_joba_chamb.html That's from a month ago, is there anything more recent than that? Even if so, I just don't see them acquiring four starters in one off-season when they can sign two and go after Teixiera.
  9. Yeah, I'm going with Jack here on the Peavy package. Melky and Kennedy have lost a ton of value, enough that I don't think one or two or Betances/Melancon/Jackson can get it done.
  10. I don't think getting all four is their plan. Why boot Joba out of the rotation for a moderately better, much more expensive older guy?
  11. Ahh I remember that.
  12. LSU now up 33-31.
  13. Depends on the rest of the off-season. If they don't get Tex, he will probably be their 1B. But being a bench player does promote his flexibility, since he can be a super sub.
  14. Bipolar? And Jacoby: Drunk or hack? Taking guesses now!
  15. He's somewhere in the middle of "high end" and "stinks". .805 OPS and flexible position-wise, it's a nice addition for a low cost.
  16. Holy s***. Didn't see that one coming... Some other upsets brewing, BC is up 17-10 over Florida State, and #23 Tulsa is getting whooped by Houston. Alabama is going to remain #1 though.
  17. That's a nice park, but Kleenex Stadium? Really? That name blows! Anyone?
  18. Uhh no. They'll probably sign two starters and have a rotation of CC, Wang, Lowe/Burnett, Joba, Pettitte.
  19. Okay, he sucks in big spots, but Jeff Suppan is not better than Tim Wakefield.
  20. x2 to Doumit as a backup plan. .858 OPS for a catcher =/= backup plan, especially to Dusty Brown and Mark Wagner, who has approximately zero at bats above AA.
  21. 4.13 ERA, 1.18 WHIP for a 4th or 5th starter? Not really your thing, is it?
  22. Yes, but if you care enough about the game to look at numbers, you probably watch games anyway. Eh, moot anyway.
  23. Ahh, copy/paste.
  24. According to our skinhead friend, Kilo and I are aficionados of...*ahem* African American genitalia.
