  1. AL East Update: Orioles down 1-0 in the 5th. Rays down 1-0 in the 6th. Blue Jays down 6-0 in the 7th.
  2. Gonzo! Oh man that's awesome to see. Pedroia and Gonzalez are getting it going.
  3. Cody Ross has, fairly quietly, been one of the best hitters on this team. .909 OPS before that HR, and now 11 HR. EDIT: 10 HR. ESPN updates quicker than I give it credit for.
  4. Sounds like Buchholz is in the hospital with intestinal bleeding. Gross.
  5. Ahh pasta mojo, one of my favorite Talksox traditions.
  6. Oh man. To each his own, but I think he's by far the best in the business.
  7. 11 IP, 11 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 17 K. Very good so far.
  8. I love how Mitch Williams, when a guy goes ahead in the count 0-2, says that the pitcher has 4 chances to get him with a bad pitch. Yeah man, that's probably why you walked 7.1 per 9 in your career.
  9. Are you talking about this year? If so, you basically predict him to be terrible for the rest of the year? He'd have to OBP about .270 from here on out to get down to .340 for the year, assuming he totals about 350 PA on the year (seems reasonable).
  10. This Braves pitcher has a lot of siblings. Those Medlen kids. YOTN gimme that one!
  11. 52 and 36 pitches in his two longer relief outings. Then 80 in his first start and 86 tonight. He'll get over 90 next time. 100 is a lot to ask when he hasn't gone 100 since April 2008.
  12. "Excellent work by Martinez." 3 IP, 6 H, 2 ER.
  13. It's pretty common for guys converted from relievers to starters. Usually it happens in Spring Training or AAA. When you're training for a marathon, you don't run one mile every other day and then just go for the 26.2. You have to build up to it.
  14. He actually brought him in with a runner on 2nd, 2 out in the 7th in a tied game. Not nearly as bad, but still high pressure. Meredith walked two guys then gave up the grand slam. He was called up early and not handled well, but it was also only 2 1/3 IP.
  15. Well that was lucky. Let's get some insurance.
  16. Truest statement I have ever seen on this site.
  17. WordUpThome with the walkoff HR against the Rays.
  18. Wow the announcers chose David Ross to swoon over all game?
  19. Keys to the Game Braves: Keep top of the order off base Red Sox: Get the top of the order on base Can't make this stuff up
  20. I think he'll be a big boy about it. Nothing to suggest otherwise.
