Fun fact: In 2004, Tom Wilhelmsen tested positive for marijuana twice and was suspended for the year. He then quit baseball and was a bartender from 2005 to 2009.
Greinke is a 1 and Hamels is a 2? How do you figure? Hamels has been way better the last 3 years. Even if you include Greinke's amazing 2009 (coupled with Hamels' meh 2009), the numbers are very close.
Hard to expect Doubront to match the last three starts for the Sox. Would be really nice to get some damn runs. It would be absurd to lose 3/4 to Seattle.
Orioles down 6-2 to Cleveland. They'll be 3-9 in their last 12. Looks like the beginning of the end for them. It was only a matter of time before their pitching went down the drain. By the deadline I expect them to be in 4th or 5th.
When Jeter makes his farewell rounds in his last year, I'll give him his credit and cheer for him. But only before the game starts. Until then, he's an overrated singles hitter with no range.
Go back even further and get Rice, Eck, Fred Lynn, Dewey, Fisk, etc, that'd be a hot ticket. Surprised they haven't tried it, since they've been expanding promotional stuff so much the last 10 years.
Unfortunately, due to a massive misunderstanding and a subsequent fear to tell the two players to leave, they remained on the team for games that actually counted.
Yanks Old Timers game is today. Just saw Rickey Henderson and Reggie Jackson come out. I wish the Sox had an Old Timers' Game. They used to, apparently. My dad saw Ted Williams get a hit at Fenway because of that. Maybe if all the players weren't slammed on the way out.
Probably because he has 3 XBH in those 11 games (17 hits).
Just win the f***ing game. And then take 2 of 3 from f***ing Oakland. Okay. Just stop s***ing around.
