  1. Okay so now the Mariners get two guys on, then a ball is hit to right field, Ross makes a good throw and Salty mishandles it. 1 2 3 Break!
  2. This isn't even a valid comparison. Gonzalez and Drew were both on the Sox in 2011 and don't play the same position. Also Drew retired.
  3. Fun fact: In 2004, Tom Wilhelmsen tested positive for marijuana twice and was suspended for the year. He then quit baseball and was a bartender from 2005 to 2009.
  4. Yeah but neither does anything any of us say. EDIT: Except for mojo. Mojo definitely counts.
  5. I am totally not down for 3 walkoff losses in Seattle, so let's not do that. Since it's a must-win game and all.
  6. OH THE HUMANITY WORLD SERIES BOUND or something
  7. Jason Vargas should not make it into the 8th inning, ever.
  8. Greinke is a 1 and Hamels is a 2? How do you figure? Hamels has been way better the last 3 years. Even if you include Greinke's amazing 2009 (coupled with Hamels' meh 2009), the numbers are very close.
  9. Excellent rebound inning in terms of pitch count for Doubront. Score.
  10. Wait, so he called it a strike and then changed it to a ball? What the what?
  11. 26 pitches to 4 hitters. Probably not matching Cook's performance.
  12. O's lose, Rays losing. If the Rays do lose, the Sox can get sole possession of 3rd place for the first time this year, and 1/2 GB the O's.
  13. Hard to expect Doubront to match the last three starts for the Sox. Would be really nice to get some damn runs. It would be absurd to lose 3/4 to Seattle.
  14. Orioles down 6-2 to Cleveland. They'll be 3-9 in their last 12. Looks like the beginning of the end for them. It was only a matter of time before their pitching went down the drain. By the deadline I expect them to be in 4th or 5th.
  15. When Jeter makes his farewell rounds in his last year, I'll give him his credit and cheer for him. But only before the game starts. Until then, he's an overrated singles hitter with no range.
  16. Some things never change. I'm sure Joba was smiling from whatever trampoline or jail cell he was in.
  17. And you thought trading Youk to an AL team would HURT the Red Sox... (kidding)
  18. Last time the Sox had just 1 All-Star was 2001 (Manny). That was when Nomar and Pedro were hurt for much of the season and everyone else sucked.
  19. Go back even further and get Rice, Eck, Fred Lynn, Dewey, Fisk, etc, that'd be a hot ticket. Surprised they haven't tried it, since they've been expanding promotional stuff so much the last 10 years.
  20. Unfortunately, due to a massive misunderstanding and a subsequent fear to tell the two players to leave, they remained on the team for games that actually counted.
  21. Yanks Old Timers game is today. Just saw Rickey Henderson and Reggie Jackson come out. I wish the Sox had an Old Timers' Game. They used to, apparently. My dad saw Ted Williams get a hit at Fenway because of that. Maybe if all the players weren't slammed on the way out.
  22. Ortiz is the only All-Star on the Sox. I am okay with this.
  23. Probably because he has 3 XBH in those 11 games (17 hits). Just win the f***ing game. And then take 2 of 3 from f***ing Oakland. Okay. Just stop s***ing around.
