I've said all along that I thought he was a juicer, so while I take some level of confirmation from this announcement, I hope people realize that the bigger picture says no one can be assumed drug-free...no one...and that focusing on just the big names and the HR hitters is a mistake. I am very confident that a high % of the following have used, whether they're implicated or not: Varitek, Nomar, Nixon, Troy O'LEary, Damon, Manny, Ortiz, Jeter, Abreu, Posada, Soriano, Bagwell, Thome, Giles, Juan Gon, Albert Belle, Helton, IRod, Glaus, Magglio, Burnitz, Delgado, Edmunds, Andrue Jones, Brett Boone, Tejada, Beltre, Pujols, Konerko, Berkman, Hafner..to name a few. oh yeah, and Teixeira...that's right, I said it, I believe the kid next door has juiced.

I think Ortiz did, I think Manny probably did. Pedro? SO what he's skinny, there are drugs that have a greater impact on strength than size, and he DID gain about 15 lbs one offseason as I recall. Nixon, Kapler, Varitek, Nomar I very strongly suspect. As for Jeter? I think he used, I saw subtle, but noticeable, differences in his body, his face and his strength. Doesn't mean he did a lot, but I suspect him.

Understood, and you are right..the media, in its naivette (sp?), wanted badly to say that ARod would be a clean HR champ, but based their premature annointment on nothing.

So what? The Yankees always seem to pay great player coin for several guys who aren't great. Why should Holliday be treated any differently?

Wonder if the B's still harbor some resentment against Randy Jones for his hit on Bergeron? Th Flyers currently lead the NHL in PIMs per game and major penalties...could be ugly tonight.

Heard some of the interview with Moose. I'm not sure I believe him when he says he hasn't read the book yet, although I do think that is the easiest way to protect himself...when asked a tough question he said a number of times "I really don't know what's in there." I thought he did a good job of walking the line between being true to what he said in the past and not allowing it to be characterized as a slam on the Yanks or his former teammates. The motivation, IMO, was self-preservation, not honesty...I do think he's a bit of a ****.

I too see him landing in the Bronx...maybe a 3 yr deal well discounted from that which was projected by some earlier this offseason. 1 yr $25m was turned down...perhaps laying the ground work for a 3 yr. $17m per yr deal somewhere else? That'd be a steal in some respects, ignoring the fact that he's a douche. Actually I'm kind of surprised the Mets don't jump in now although who knows if he's expressed that he doesn't want to go there...in fact who knows anything going on behind the scenes, this is Boras we're talking about, the weasel could be misleading FO's all over the place for all we know.

Agree...and probably very intelligent with a very nice career of her own... of course I understand some here wouldn't be interested because she's not a 22 year old modeling bimbo who swallows and takes it in the ass.
