  1. Lowell's not the best choice to balance out ARod though....ARod's got no balls and Lowell's only got one.
  2. I would like to think both could be had without dealing Buchholz or Ellsbury. Lowrie/Bowden/Masterson for Johnson and Blanton?
  3. Just say no to both Rolen and Johnson. Rolen's shoulder is shredded and Johnson is coming off a major injury and is made of glass anyways. Besides, isn't Johnson not going to be ready for next season? What about Dan Johnson in Oakland, and package him with Joe Blanton?
  4. My mistake. I apologize.
  5. Lowell might be goooooone. http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/sports/BO66884/
  6. Love this post except for the "ARod is crawling back" part. Don't buy it.
  7. Last month, it was reported the Yanks were willing to extend him for 5/140 on top of his remaining 3/81 deal, netting 8/231. Less the 7 mil per for the 3 years Texas owes, and that number drops to 8/210. They offer 10/275, and it's the Yankees who win out here? They pay an extra $65 million, and it's ARod and Boras who look foolish?
  8. The Yankees no longer have the Texas subsidy.
  9. Couple thoughts - 1. Brutal April. Japan trip, plus series against the Tigers, Guardians, Yanks, and Angels. 2. May/June don't look too bad. Depending on how April goes, we could make a nice move there. 3. End of July and end of September are crucial homestands. July - 9 games, Yanks, Angels, A's September - 7 games, Guardians and Yanks.
  10. Oh me too, that's why I called it my Plan C.
  11. Yanks still waiting on Rivera
  12. Actually, this is a decent point. And, if true, makes Boras seem like even more of a genius.
  13. The deal of the table is for 10 years, $275 million. Who exactly are the winners on this deal?
  14. I was being generous with that offer. Honestly, if you can get Santana without dealing Joba or Hughes you do it and don't look back.
  15. We gave the starting 2B job to Dustin Pedroia. How'd that work out?
  16. IMO the Yankees strategy is clear as day. Throw tons of money at their vets and/or players who can fill positions of need (Posada, ARod, Rivera, Lowell). Go hard after Santana with some of their pitching prospects. The balance of power in the ALE tips in favor of the Yankees if that happens. Although if they spend over $40 mil for four years of Lowell at first, more power to them. I can really see, if these come to fruition, a Cano/Tabata/Kennedy/Cabrera type deal for Santana. Move Jeter to 2nd, play ARod at short.
  17. Jed Lowrie.
