  1. Kessel + Rask >>>>> Thomas + Sturm/Ryder, no doubt in my mind, an I really like Michael Ryder. You also don't trade your best goal scorer for peanuts in the midst of a Cup run. Like I said upthread, this is a rebuilding move. Not ones Cup contenders make.
  2. ICHIROOOOOO
  3. :lol::lol:
  4. I'm confident Rask can match Thomas's production with Julien's defense behind him. Who the f*** is going to put the puck in the net, though?
  5. How so? It's a measure of runs scored v. runs allowed. What is a better statistic to use?
  6. Really? They have $1.7 million in cap space and decided to give a 35 f***ing year old goaltender $5 million a season, a goaltender who hasn't won a f***ing thing in his life.
  7. This is a trade rebuilding teams make, not Cup contenders.
  8. Contract is 5/27. Makes it a little easier to swallow, but goddamn. Derek Morris, Chuck Kobasew, and Tim Thomas instead of Phil Kessel. I'll bet anyone on this board $50 he scores 40 goals next season.
  9. Potential? I think he had a shot at 50 if he didn't get sick last season. Point per game player in the playoffs gone because Chiarelli loves Chuck Kobasew and Tim Thomas.
  10. What analysis do you need? Bruins overpay for marginal talent and yet young talent with extreme upside walk once again. Same s***, different day.
  11. So glad we paid Tim Thomas. Whatever, this organization is the laughingstock of Boston sports and they reap what they sow. Kessel wasn't enough of a Bruin for them, I guess.
  12. What don't you get about the 2002 Angels being a very, very good team?
  13. They would have a playoff for the Wild Card position at that point. So technically, they are in the playoffs then.
  14. I explained it in the game thread last night. The magic number is 11 due to the number of times LAA and Texas play each other.
  15. SFOC - can you confirm you got my dues
  16. He instantly becomes the second best writer after Benjamin.
  17. I don't have many qualms about Tito leaving Beckett out there for the 8th, but his management in the 9th was freaking terrible.
  18. Can they leave Tek in Boston please?
  19. Also, if you're going to PH Youk why not do it now instead of after Rico?
  20. Terrible job, Tito. Thing is LaRussa would have pulled Drew too. Because he thinks he's soft.
  21. That's not true at all, because the Rangers can still win the AL West. I thought I laid it out fairly simply for you, but I guess not.
  22. Red Sox record: 86-58 (18 games left) LAA record: 86-59 (17 games left) Tex record: 80-65 (17 games left) If the Sox win 11 more games, they have 97 wins. If Texas wins out, they have 97 wins, but in the process beat the Angels 7 times, meaning the best possible record from here on out is 10-7, meaning they can only win 96 games. Sox win the WC. If the Angels win out, the same is true, but the Sox win the WC against Texas and not LAA.
  23. ESPN hasn't been about sports in about 10 years.
