Kessel + Rask >>>>> Thomas + Sturm/Ryder, no doubt in my mind, an I really like Michael Ryder. You also don't trade your best goal scorer for peanuts in the midst of a Cup run. Like I said upthread, this is a rebuilding move. Not ones Cup contenders make.

Really? They have $1.7 million in cap space and decided to give a 35 f***ing year old goaltender $5 million a season, a goaltender who hasn't won a f***ing thing in his life.

Contract is 5/27. Makes it a little easier to swallow, but goddamn. Derek Morris, Chuck Kobasew, and Tim Thomas instead of Phil Kessel. I'll bet anyone on this board $50 he scores 40 goals next season.

Potential? I think he had a shot at 50 if he didn't get sick last season. Point per game player in the playoffs gone because Chiarelli loves Chuck Kobasew and Tim Thomas.

So glad we paid Tim Thomas. Whatever, this organization is the laughingstock of Boston sports and they reap what they sow. Kessel wasn't enough of a Bruin for them, I guess.

They would have a playoff for the Wild Card position at that point. So technically, they are in the playoffs then.

If Texas wins out, they have 97 wins, but in the process beat the Angels 7 times, meaning the best possible record from here on out is 10-7, meaning they can only win 96 games. Sox win the WC. If the Angels win out, the same is true, but the Sox win the WC against Texas and not LAA.
