OT, but did anyone see that Wagner said Jon Lester is the best LHP he's ever played with? Coming from a guy who's seen the likes of Randy Johnson and Johan Santana up close, that's high praise.

Detroit's defense is not very good, especially in the outfield. Granderson is good but the corner outfielders suck, which is part of the explanation for Washburn's regression, he left the best defensive OF in the majors for one of the worst. As for this thread, I think the Sox should go balls out until Friday. If they are 4 games or less out come Friday, go for the division. Any more, ease off the gas.

Lucic is a "true Bruin" or "dirt dog" or whatever the f*** you want to call it. If Kessel really didn't want to be here, why did he say he did in June, at a Bruins charity event? Seems odd that he'd take part in that event if he really wanted to skip town. An honest question to those who try to defend this - is there any scneario in which you envision the Bruins being the winners in this deal? Any at all? People are severely overrating the value of these draft picks, and they still don't have cap space to take on a guy like Kovalchuk at the deadline. Just a horrid sequence of moves from PC starting with the Thomas extension. His legacy in Boston hinges upon this Kessel deal, IMO.

If you don't think Rask can put up what Thomas did in front of Julien's defensive system, you just don't know much about hockey. Alex f***ing Auld put up a .919 SV% in his time here when playing for Julien.
