  1. The Tom Brady rule: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80f5307a&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true
  2. The Ryan Clark rule passed. Welker didn't have a problem with the hit (although he didn't know his name at the time). I doubt this passes with just the Welker hit, I think the McGahee hit is what pushed it through. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/nfl_provides_mo.html
  3. Who knows, maybe the NFL is doing it on purpose. They know people will watch the football on TG no matter what, so why not put the worst teams there so there is a bigger draw on Sundays.
  4. You would think the NFL could come up with some better games on Thanksgiving. I know their stuck with Detroit and Dallas...but Oakland. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/primetime_openi.html
  5. Pats get 3 picks, including the first one. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/pats_get_three.html
  6. Thanks for 2004 Shill!
  7. maybe she's the one giving him career advice
  8. BB was on WEEI's "the big show" and talked at length. 11. Great game tonight! The US guys that are there seem to be loving every minute of it.
  12. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/schefter_99_per.html
  13. Here's the schefter interview: http://audio.weei.com/m/21997538/adam_schefter_nfl_network.htm
  14. Schefter was on WEEI this morning. He basically said Cassel misunderstood the franchise tender and that when Schefter reported that after he signed it the pats can trade him anywhere his agents called him and told him Schefter was wrong.....Schefter had to talk to and correct them. If true this is crazy, lot's of egg on their face. I will go back and listen to make sure I got it right. EDIT: Schefter said after he reported it on NFLN he got a call from someone in the Cassel camp saying he was wrong because they didn't know about this.....he informed them that he was right, and it didn't matter what they knew once he signed it.
  15. Schefter was on WEEI earlier and basically said he doesn't see this Peppers deal going down. He hasn't heard anything and doesn't know where Carucci is getting his info. He said he is 99.9% sure it isn't going to happen
  16. I think Wilfork will want to get paid, but also realizes he has it good here. (which he has said numerous times) I think he won't demand anywhere near that contract, but if they pay a guy high dollars to come here....he will demand high dollars considering what he's already done here. If somehow Peppers takes a discount to play here, then we might be in good shape. If Wilfork stays he will get a good payday, but nowhere near what he could draw on the open market.....especially considering how many teams are switching to the 3-4 now and how few true nose tackles there are.
  17. Just when you think you've seen it all....wow
  18. It's complicated with Peppers; they can't just strait up trade for him because he brings a $16mil cap figure with him which the pats can't absorb right now. So they have to work out a contract with Peppers and then work out a trade with Carolina. Wilfork is a much more important piece to the D than Peppers would potentially be....and if they give high dollars to Peppers then Wilfork will want his payday. Personally I think Wilfork is the priority, and then Peppers. While I would love to see Peppers here, he would have to come here at a discount which goes against his history.
  19. Off topic, but very cool just the same: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/03/15/union/1.html
  20. I'm glad they are bringing back Tank Williams. He looked very impressive before he blew out his knee last year. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/16/pats-sign-al-johnson-re-sign-others/
  21. Personally I am skeptical of this report; Peppers is going to command high dollars, and I don't see the pats laying out that kind of cash for 1 player. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/report_patriots_3.html
  22. Surprise pick to head the NFLPA....about time they got someone in there: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983760&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
  23. I thought this was coming, he's been a good backup. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/wright_deal_con.html
  24. Joey Galloway to the pats, good signing if true: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/report_galloway.html
