  1. Peter King of SI is reporting that it's Vrabel and Cassel for KC's 2nd rounder this year. King has never been a solid source though, I'll believe it when Schefter and/or Reiss report it.
  2. Dawkins deal done: http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/28/dawkins-signs-five-year-deal-with-broncos/
  3. Tom Curran quote:
  4. Now NFLN is reporting a 3rd team is involved in the trade
  5. Tom Curran of NBC sports (formerly ProJo) is reporting that the #3 pick this year is not involved.....and NFLN is reporting a surprise involved
  6. Posted this in the NFL Offseason thread as well http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/02/cassel_trade_co.html For the record, i would have preferred Cassel go to the NFC, oh well
  7. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/02/cassel_trade_co.html EDIT: for the record, i would have preferred Cassel go to the NFC, oh well
  8. SF seems pretty happy with Hill and are willing to give him a season to see where he can go. I doubt they would want to trade for Cassel at this point. Terrible move, especially considering they said that they want to bring him in to compete with Jackson for the job....they are in the same boat they were last year, at a time when the pornstar needs to win to keep his job The pats generally don't like high picks, but if they see someone they think can be a long term, high caliber fit for them...then stranger things have happened. (they had never drafted a LB high before last year and look how that turned out) Trading down on draft day is an option, but a risky one if they don't have someone they value highly to take in case it falls through. Tough to say, who knows what they are doing down there.....i was surprised with the Winslow move.
  9. There are very few true 3-4 nose guards in the NFL that fit the BB system, and Wilfork is at the top of that list...so i highly doubt they will trade/replace him. I think they will get a deal done to keep him. They need to extend Seymore as well.
  10. Bruschi responds to losing Vrabel: http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/patriots/index.php/2009/02/28/bruschi-reacts-to-vrabel-trade/
  11. Apparently Scott wants to go back to Baltimore: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/nfl/02/27/signings/index.html

  13. Dawkins to the Broncos per ESPN.....done deal
  14. I thought he would end up back with the pats. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/02/gaffney_joins_b.html
  15. I've got a funny feeling that the Vrabel trade might be a precursor to Cassel. I wonder if Vrabel was part of a bigger deal involving Cassel. I guess we will find out.
  16. Completely agree. Especially considering the fragile nature of Maroney. With Maroney, Morris, Faulk, and Taylor....the backfield is very strong.
  17. I think this was unexpected. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/02/lonie_paxton_to.html
  18. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/27/chiefs-patriots-nearing-trade-for-vrabel/ Didn't see this one coming....wonder if it's part of a bigger deal
  19. TB finally got hitched.

  21. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/27/jets-expected-to-sign-lb-scott/
  22. $156 million between Haynesworth and Hall, wow! One things for sure, Snyder always makes a splash during free agency.
  23. This is a good signing....joins Morris, Maroney, and Faulk. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/27/taylor-to-sign-with-new-england/
