  1. They've got plenty to complain about in Cleveland....ironically this sounds a lot like when BB came in and took over the pats. I am no fan of Mangini, but I do think he will do pretty well this year in Cleveland.
  2. They should...with their D and running game a solid QB would make them tough.
  3. Congrats to the winners....and thanks SFOC for the grid!
  4. Thanks SFOC.....always much appreciated!
  5. Well the deadline came and went on the East and West coast with no news. This was expected, but still feels strange knowing Tek won't be calling pitches this year
  6. McAdam on Sports Tonight was saying that Tek is considering retirement...however is leaning towards declining the offer and hoping the sox need him come spring training....thus giving him a better offer.
  7. Pats hire Floyd Reese for the front office: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/01/patriots_hire_r.html
  8. More good news: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2009/01/27/source_brady_on_track_for_opener/
  9. Shill was on WEEI, and talked at length about Tek and what he really means to the staff....thought it was interesting: Listen Online: http://audio.weei.com/m/audio/21787710/curt_schilling_s_first_segment.htm?pageid=968 Direct Download: http://media.weei.podzinger.com/archive/TheBigShow/2009-01-22_Curt_Schillings_First_Segment.mp3
  10. Interesting: John Lynch praising BB: http://www.patriotsdaily.com/2009/01/john-lynch-says-belichick-is-the-best/
  11. It's 2005 all over again. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/01/26/expect-belichick-to-devote-time-to-offense/
  12. Looks like TB is doing well....Michael Smith is a pretty good source. http://videos.espn.com/m/video/21797832/michael_smith_news_and_notes.htm?pageid=14030
  13. The coaching exodus continues: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/01/te_coach_pete_m.html
  14. It wasn't apparent...in the link I posted they stated it was common practice to let them stay making it sound like this was a new twist....here's the quote: This came out well before PFT did, in fact it was a lot of people sending this article to Florio that got him going...he investigated with the NFL and got the story correct. To the NFL's credit, they have now changed their tune: http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/23/nfl-changes-course-on-color-guard-issue/
  15. Goodell strikes again....either don't have them come or have them come and let them stay for the game instead of kicking them to the curb. Something tells me ' the boss ' won't get escorted out after the halftime show. Nothing like using our military for the photo-op and then showing them the door. http://thunderrun.blogspot.com/2009/01/are-you-ready-to-get-angry.html
  16. Brady looks to be ready to come back in 2009: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/01/brady_on_rehab.html
  17. RAVENS LOSS CREATES FOUR-WAY ROTATION FOR PATRIOTS DRAFT POSITION: With the Ravens losing to the Steelers in the AFC championship game, they will revert to their original draft position, 26th overall. The Ravens are part of a four-team cluster with 11-5 records which includes the Patriots (23rd), Falcons (24th) and Dolphins (25th). Those four teams will rotate in each round of the draft. From a Patriots perspective, the team will pick 23rd in the first round, then will be in the 26th spot in the second round, and in the 25th spot in the third round and so forth. Had the Ravens advanced to the Super Bowl, they would have picked 31st or 32nd in each round regardless of their 11-5 record.
  18. Brad Seely leaves for Cleveland....moves from ST coach to ST coach plus asst head coach http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/01/seelys_move_not.html Dom Capers to Green Bay. Capers was way overqualified to be a secondary coach, so this was to be expected.
  19. So far the losses and reaction from the pats:
  20. Been a busy off-season fo far with all of the personel losses: Head coach: Bill Belichick Offensive coordinator: Open Defensive coordinator: Dean Pees Special teams: Open Assistant head coach/offensive line: Dante Scarnecchia Defensive line: Pepper Johnson Linebackers: Matt Patricia Quarterbacks: Open Running backs: Ivan Fears Secondary: Open Tight ends: Pete Mangurian Wide receivers: Bill O'Brien Strength & conditioning: Mike Woicik Assistant strength & conditioning: Harold Nash Coaching assistants: Josh Boyer, Brian Flores, Shane Waldron Edit: Looks like they filled the QB coach position http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/01/bill_obrien_to.html
  21. I am sure there will be a fine coming for that hit. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/18/heinz-field-sound-crew-badly-mishandled-mcgahee-injury/
  22. I didn't really care who won, but it was disappointing to see it end on a play where there should have been a flag thrown. With that said though I am sure McNabb would have found a way to gag again if they had been awarded the 1st down. As far as the Superbowl goes, I actually think Arizona wins. I give the coaching edge to Wiz going up against his old team. I also think Warner will play better against Pitt than eyechart will against the cards D. Eyechart didn't play very well in his last SB appearance....let's hope the refs don't play such a big part this time around.
  23. A surprise move, I thought he was going to either Denver or the Giants...but a great hire for Green Bay and a loss for the pats. (although he was way overqualified as a secondary coach and special assistant to BB...so it was to be expected) In one sense, I thought that maybe BB was getting Capers ready to take over DC for the pats if Peas left http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/18/packers-land-capers/
  24. Jets to hire Ryan: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3843174
