  1. not good, he's out with a knee injury too
  2. http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2008/0907/nfl_a_brady_400.jpg Doesn't look good....WEEI is speculating (although Smerlas and Shepherd think they are pretty sure) that it's stretched ligaments and 4-6 weeks out.
  3. Anyone interested in doing a football pickem this year? We could just do it hear or use the yahoo system.
  4. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/27/merriman-chooses-to-play/ What an idiot. All the doctors tell you to have surgery, becuase if you play you could end your career....so he decides to play. Why did he spend the time going to see all the doctors when he wasn't going to listen to them anyway?
  5. This is the best time of year for football fans.......everyone thinks their team has a shot. (except of course for the raiders )
  6. I believe last year we talkeded about having a scoring category for receptions....do people want this?
  7. I saw this on ESPNEWS last night.....even the 2 commentators were laughing and making snide comments on what a moron Hank is. Hank is the Ken 'the Hawk' Harrelson of front office personal.
  8. Joined as ' Average Joe's '
  9. Unreal...i was watching live last night and didn't think they had a chance in the last leg considering they were behind and the WR holder was anchoring the french team. The last 75 was just crazy.....not to mention all the subplots coming together.
  10. Last year was great, love to play again! Thanks for setting it up SFOC
  11. I've always enjoyed watching Favre play, but now I will enjoy watching him lose. Pennington is gone simply because of his cap number ($6mil i believe) and the fact that he's gone about as far as he can there. Clemmens is their guy for the future, and watching Favre for a year or two can't be all that bad.....although Aaron Rodgers wasn't welcome under Favre's wing, so who knows. One ironic twist to this story is that the Jets actually wanted to draft Favre in the first round, but lost their first round pick....they planned to take his with their 2nd if he was still there but Atlanta grabbed him one pick before them. Then one of the Jets front office went to GB and traded for him there.........how would things be different if the Jets had him from the beginning? All of the pressure is on Favre here....Manjudas' system is much more complicated and Favre has a lot to learn and a lot to adapt to...although the Jets spent a lot to have a great (on paper) o-line......so he should have the time he needs. The ballwashing will be through the roof, but that's to be expected because what else have the Jets had to get excited about. I love all the talking heads predicting now that the Jets should win the AFC East......last time I checked 'lord Favre' lost to the pats 35-0 with a much better team than the one he'll be on this year!
  12. I really wonder how much of this is Boras: upset he's not getting any money off of manram right now and whispering the 4/100 nonsense in his ears.
  13. Gammo basically saying that the deal is really close, but that the sticking poinst is the young players going to Pitt. Unless Manram is a cancer and is really disrupting the clubhouse, then there is no deal being talked about that makes the sox a better team.......losing manram isn't an option IMO.

  16. Ya, big fan.

    Euro 2008

I followed, as I love the sport. One night during the half they showed some of the MLS game (don't know who) and it seemed like watching a pee-wee league after Euro. I have always been a German fan and I picked Germany to win it all over Italy in the final. I think the most entertaining game I saw was Russia / Ned in the quarterfinals. Overall it was a great tourney, and I still think Germany wins it if Ballack is 100% in the final!
  18. I assume I'm the culprit here, so let me shed some light and then you guys can decide what's best for the league. After the draft things got pretty crazy for me. We found out/decided to move out of Virginia and back to NH (where I'm from, my wife's from Va...and this is where we've been since we got married). Since then we have moved out of our house and put everything into storage in preparation while staying with family so my only access to a computer is at the office. Obviously work changed as well and i am rarely in the office anymore, and when i am my time is very limited and everyone needs me so it's almost impossible to do anything for fantasy or post on the board. I would try whenever i could to adjust my lineup, but I've had zero time for add/drop/trade, ect.... In the last week my schedule has gotten more back to normal (alot of days I was gone from 6:30am - 10:00pm) and I am in the office 10x more than these last couple months...so I've had the time needed for my roster. 90% of the craziness is over now and I have the time needed for my team....there may be a couple days here and there where i can't do anything, but that's all. If i had known any of this was coming when we set up the league, I would not have played so as to avoid this....i apologize for any inconvenience, it was not intentional. I will do whatever is in the best interest of the league, so you guys let me know if you think i should leave. thanks
  19. My feed died during Moss' ab, first directv and now this.....strange opening day!
  20. Nice catch by Ellsbury....and glad he's ok! Edit: That catch was much more impressive when seeing it from the side view
  21. Don't know if this has been asked already...but is the ad on the side of the batting helmet permanent or just temporary for Japan?
  22. Great, Lugo hasn't missed a beat since last year
  23. Nothing like a fastball middle-in that was supposed to be outside......
