  1. Who knew Brady would lose 5 points in the 2nd half today and Maroney would go off again? Anyway I am up 23, but seabass has LT and Marshall going (in SD with good weather) Monday night......so it will be tight!
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3163105
  3. That was a terrible decision by both. Bad play drawn up and Pierce left too much time on the clock...how hard is it to do when there's only 5 seconds left to begin with.
  4. Classy and smart move by Westbrook....we don't see that very often. Good luck to everyone going forward.
  5. Ya, Minn would have been a good bet with Kyle Orton starting for Chicago.....however nobody expected KC to do well this week.
  6. Geez, Brady with -1 today
  7. Looks like i should have started Maroney today....who knew?
  8. The cleveland game looks just terrible...I have Edwards playing in that too but much tougher for Anderson
  9. ya i would rather see snow then rain and wind
  10. I don't know, i am just making an observation. A lot of the reporters that are with the team all the time mentioned that players had said some things and that they all looked tired and run down. During the week before the steelers game BB gave the team Wednesday off while the coaches finished up the gameplan. After that the team was said to look re-energized and 'back to normal' I'm sure that the primetime games take a lot more out of a player simply due to the added media stuff in addition to the 'undefeated' talk. In addition during primetime games these guys probably don't get much sleep that night. I remember hearing Brady talk saying that even after a primetime game they would be in there working out at 5 or 6 in the morning...after not getting out of there till early morning after the game. He said they pretty much lose a nights sleep when they have a game like that...so after time it catches up with you. The results speak for themselves though as BB game them some rest, and they played a better team, and beat them handily. Again all of this is just speculation on my part from things that i have heard.
  11. The pats def have area's where they can improve...but i think the Baltimore game had more to do with fatigue than anything else. They had played 3 prime-time games in a row and you could tell they were tired...they looked much better in the pitt game. One thing the pats have always done is employ that 'bend but don't break' philosophy. They will give up yards to keep the plays in front of them and not allow the big play.....this is why you will seem things change when teams get into the redzone because the pats aren't protecting against a longer play. They do this to prevent getting burned by the big play, also trusting that at points in the game they will get the 3 and out or the turnover that swings the game.
  12. Good move for the stros, and gets him outta the AL East. (not that baltimore was much to worry about)
  13. Any team in the shape Miami is in should trade down to get multiple picks. There is not a 'franchise QB' to take at #1 and build around. (although that usually doesn't work out either) They need a lot of help and trading down would be their best option in my opinion.

  15. Merriman saying his injury wasn't an accident http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3149230 While i can't stand Merriman, this isn't a surprise. In the season finale last year the pats played the titans and the same thing came out with the Rodney Harrison injury. Many respected pats players (bruschi, seymore, vrable) said that they were told the same thing and that Fischer was laughing and taunting them while Rodney was being attended to on the field. Rodney would have been able to come back for the superbowl, if they had made it that far.
  16. The field turf will diminish a lot of the 'elements' factor going forward. The footing has more to do with affecting the play than if it's raining or snowing. The Baltimore game; the pats didn't play well, looked tired, and got the ravens best shot. The weather was def a factor, but that's not an excuse for how they played because the weather didn't help McGahee run through the pats all night. The wind was terrible that day ( i live a couple hours away) and would def have an effect on the deep ball more than anything. The asante interception is a key example of that as that ball just died but it helped the pats. The bottom line for that game is that Baltimore played great and the pats didn't. You could def tell during the Pitt game that the extra rest BB gave the team helped as they looked much better.
  17. and state charges pending!
  18. I think it's a little of both. The ravens said they treated it as their superbowl and it was very emotional for them. Last night they looked lost on the field. Couple that with the colts striking so quick it was over early and the ravens checked out!
  19. Peter King is at it again: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/peter_king/12/09/week14/5.html Someone needs to tell the "NFL Expert" that he's been on IR
  20. Wow, you put up a lot of points this week.....indy D with 35:blink: Good week, and good luck in the playoffs!
  21. Great news......who thought we would be saying this after it happened!
  22. We agree that they should be consistent...but it's not a bad call when it agrees with the rules, it's a bad call when the refs don't. If the refs could be consistent, which seems to be a problem all over the league this year, then there wouldn't be such an uproar. If that holding call last night had been called earlier in the game ( and there were plenty of opportunities to call it) then we aren't talking about it right now because it was an easy call to make. If the Gaffney TD is called incomplete on the field, it's not overturned....just not enough evidence either way. One thing that gets lost in all of this is the fact that the Ravens killed themselves with penalties: if the pats didn't get to kick off from the 35 the ravens could have had a good return and the game could have been different. (they had good special teams all night)
  23. WEEI is now reporting that the Ravens will officialy ask the NFL to launch an investigation into the Ref calling Samari Rolle 'boy' last night during the game.
