  1. Let's just hope and pray that the fatman doesn't "crap the bed" tonight. Every game so far this season i have felt good about before the game---this one makes me nervous! Of course i have wanted to trade him all along!
  2. Stern is fine in center and pena can use some ab's in right. Mohr (sp?) will play some too so were ok! I have a feeling that stern may get more playing time in right this year if nixon is hurt---he deserves to stay and pena looks lost!
  3. -Beckett looked way too jacked up to start the game--once he settled down he was fine! Foulke looked fine; not as good as last outing but fine. If Pena made that play (which he should have) then no one is ripping foulke! paps looked great again in the 9th. -Stern looked good, except for the bunt attempt! However in his defense, there is no way he should have been bunting in that situation; you have 1st and 2nd with no outs and gonzo up next (who has been a black hole at the plate)---let him hit away tito, it's not like he has been struggling at the plate. -Where to begin with the trainwreck that is the beggining to pena's season! Terrible play in the field and he looks completely lost at the plate---can they please make him take a strike before allowing him to swing. Just about every pitch he swings at is way off the plate! -Manny hasn't looked too good at the plate YET! He will come around, and when he does it will help tone down some of the "pitching around" papi. -Trot didn't seem to be limping that bad, so he should't be out that long if at all. I can see stern platooning in right or playing right full time if trot is hurt and coco is back! -And last but not least the home plate ump. He wasn't terrible today, but he wasn't consistant either. There were a lot of pitches that were stikes one time and balls the next. Beckett really got squeezed in the 1st, but he came out ok!
  4. Wow, thanks guys for the thread! For some reason i thought it was a night game tonight (really stressfull day yesterday, so haven't paid attention like i should:o ) So i checked this thread out and found out it's this afternoon---------------sweet, gonna have to stop working in a couple hours:dance:
  5. I am fine with Stern taking time in center and at the top of the line-up. I think we should leave our lineup how it is and plug stern in. Stern has looked good, and will prob only get better with more ab's. I would rather coco take his time and let it heal 100% before coming back so we don't have a nagging injury that affects him the rest of the year. Let it heal coco, it's april and we will see you again!
  6. Please forgive my ignorance---but is this extension take over this year? Or are we paying him his same pay this year and then next year it kicks in?
  7. Nothing's been confirmed! Let's just hope this was a bogus story that ended up snowballing out of control!
  8. http://cbs4boston.com/topstories/local_story_099223722.html 6-8 weeks! Not good!
  9. It looks like Paps will need a day off after a close to be back to 100%. Foulke looked good yesterday; he hit 89 with his FB on one pitch and then 72 on his changeup to strike the guy out----if he can keep that up he will be fine!
  10. I guess this is just a pet peave of mine---but i don't think we should rush hansen. As i have mentioned several times, hansen was in college last year at this time! He is in AA Portland now, let's not count on him becuause i don't think we will see him in an "important" role this season!
  11. Foulke doesn't have a trade value unless we plan on eating most of his contract. Our best chance is with Foulke closing, and paps ready to start if needed. If we lost Foulke, it would tax our staff---mabey not at first but in the long run it would! Let's all pray Foulke returns to form!
  12. How good is tito looking right now for telling Tavarez to take his suspension now. We haven't needed him at all, and hopefully won't in the near future!
  13. Solid job paps---good to see! Kind of fitting to have Millar be the last out of the game!
  14. As i mentioned before, Brinkman has been terrible tonight--very inconsistant and can't get out of the way of pop-up foul balls! UPN just showed a replay of shill's last pitch and out and right before he got to the dugout he looked to be giving brinkman the business. This wasn't the usual "good game" talk, he looked to be giving him an earfull!
  15. The defense is a def upgrade and will only get better as Youk learns the position. The offense is still up in the air--the potential is there, but we will see what happens!
  16. I know it's still early in the year, but with the exception of Wake---everyone has gone 7 innings (i think clement went 7). I am sure that the improved defense has brought a comfort level to the staff and they can go out and do their best without worrying about the defense behind them!
  17. Guess I should save this quote so i can bring it up in a couple of weeks! On a side note---Brinkman is just terrible today!
  18. No it's not may---however you were pretty sure of yourself thinking shill wouldn't return to form. Yes it's early in the season, but 3 runs and 96mph in his first 2 starts----you don't get much better than that!
  19. He won't -- Tito has already said he has to prove himself before he will get the ball in a tight game! He hasn't proved himself yet.
  20. I hate being local to baltimore------i have to watch the game on their local UPN channel and i have lost count on how many plays i have missed because they are showing something else. (usually the few o's highlights). Then they don't even show the replay!
  21. Ya, that was great to see! Great call pre-season Rivinator!
  22. If you look really close in the bottom left hand corner, you can see me! It's still raining pretty good here and it's moving through here and up towards baltimore. CY is about 2.45 from here! They don't have a megatarp, at least not on the field so that field isn't in great shape! I just have a feeling this one isn't getting played today!
  23. I don't know what to expect from him today (well if they actually play a game today). I think chen matches up well with pena--we may not see a good start from pena as the kind of stuff chen has usually makes him look bad. However i hope that i am wrong!
  24. I will not speak for 700; but from my point of view it's not that i think if you are from india you work at a 7-11, or do computer tech support--------but there is a precident set. There are many people from india who do that work in those fields. Where a good friend of mine is form (NJ and Conn) every 7-11 type place that he comes in contact with are owned and operated by people with an india decent.(even on the simpsons) So to him everytime he see's a 7-11, that is what he associates it with. He is not stereotyping everyone indian saying they all work at 7-11's--------but that is the world as he knew it growing up. Everytime i need to call AOL or Dell or Directv (although they have changed recently) i get someone from india on the phone. I am not stereotyping them----it's just a fact. This holds true to the clemens comment; it seems to make sense that the drycleaners that he went to (and prob went to throughout the WBC) were owned and operated by asians---that's probably why he made the comment. It is just my opinion, but i don't believe that saying these things is racist. I can get offended and pissed off at some things people think about me too-----however i don't let the little things bother me!
