  1. He was in 04! He looked good today, and i don't fault tito for sending him out there for the 9th!
  2. Lowell seems like a nice guy and all---but i am still a Mueller guy! He always came through in the clutch when we needed him to. (homer to win off riveria in the fight game, single to score roberts in game 4 of the 04ALCS, ect......) plus mueller played a great 3rd for us! I know we had to take lowell to get beckett, but i would still have mueller! With that said i wish lowell all the best!
  3. Great minds think alike! I think if he had a year in AAA then it would really help his learning curve. I do know that papi and papajack have been working with him lately though to get him to keep his hands closer to his body during his swing. ---- Let's hope they can work their magic!
  4. If you missed it, they scored it when ichiro hit a liner to short and it went off cora's glove (cora actually looked at his glove thinking he had broken it). well a bunt got him to 2nd, stole 3rd, and scored on a grounder to 2nd where loretta couldn't get home in time and had to take the out at first. This is what i can remember at 2.45am--please correct any mistakes:D
  5. We should know something soon---however i would hope that they let it heal until they are sure he is 100%. We don't need any nagging injury, so i would be happy to be without him now, then have a nagging injury later in the year!
  6. Ya, and i don't fault tavarez for that run (if you've seen it yet) --if it wasn't for the "hole" in cora's glove, then all is good! On a side note: MLB Extra Innings really sucks this year:rant: ---not only do we have to watch the "home team's broadcast" which takes out NESN half the time----but even now they black out the replay's of the game or the "redsox in 2" on NESN. (even if, like today, it's a home game) Just really annoying--i missed today's ending (as mentioned above) and would have liked to catch the replay---oh well! You would think that the $169 you paid for the package would be enough---i guess i will just have to convince my wife to move back home!!!
  7. Friggin Tivo:rant: I couldn't catch the game live (started about 90 minutes late) and so in the middle of youk's ab, it stops. I figure they lost, but flip on NESN to be sure and get the good news. I am sure glad they won, but wish the Tivo would have gone an extra 4minutes!!!! Guess i have learned and will set it to record the postgame show as well! Great day either way:D
  8. I think that is the key to the day. Both of the monster shots were on changeup's that were low and away. He looked comfortable at the plate for the first time that i have seen this year. That one shot was still rising (laser shot) when it hit the monster--one foot higher and it's gone! Good to see and hopefully just the beggining!
  9. I like pena, but it was GREAT to see Trot back in right today:D I think that Pena can do fine in right, but he needs time out there---and i am not sure we can afford for him to take the time to learn out there. I think one thing that is overlooked with trot is the fact of how good he plays right at fenway---he inspires a lot of confidence (in me anyway). Pena has a lot of potential--i just wish we still had an option on him!
  10. Still real early and I think that he is between the sox and houston. Houston is the easier choice, but clemens also knows that boston SHOULD be his best chance to win--and it would be the biggest story of his career if they did!
  11. True, i thought that NESN (don't remember who, Remy mabey) made a good point yesterday saying that Shill's best 2 seasons were when he was part of a great 1-2 punch. With RJ in Arizona and Pedro in 04---let's hope the trend continues:D
  12. They are both great pitchers, but i expect to see more out of beckett. I give clement a pass though last year, becuase i think that the melon shot really did affect him---i remember hearing remy talk about how he was "falling off the mound" when he pitched and was very different. Does anyone have the numbers for pre and post melon shot last year?
  13. Which is really strange considering that this season (so far) manny has been all glove and no bat!
  14. Nice logic; they teach that in NY:rolleyes: We can all agree that the ump blew the call---but the inning ended on the next batter, so there is no way to assume anything except the sox would have 1 less run. We all know you wished that the sox lost--but let's try to keep it from going completly off the deep end!
  15. It will be nice to have Trot back patrolling right field tommorow----it was interesting to say the least watching pena "play" in right today. I don't blame him for that triple (would have been a triple anyway) but that misplayed ball early that allowed Ichiro to score and the hitter to get a triple was just aweful! I don't mind him getting his ab's, but i feel much more comfortable with Trot roaming right!
  16. He didn't say he was going to go pitch a no-hitter tommorow--just that he would do fine. Judging by his limited track record, that is a fair statement!
  17. So hurry up and make the next game thread!
  18. Wow, this is just amazing. I have been reading through all the posts (had to tivo the game) and everyone is ready to kill stern after today. WHY? A week ago here everyone was saying how great stern was and that they want him up here full time! The problem with stern was that he was hot at the plate and then we faced so many lefty's in a row that tito sat him down during a hot streak for several games. Now he comes back in and isn't in a groove at all, and is swinging at terrible pitches! I know that our pitchers are more comfortable with our improved defense behind them---but it's also got to weigh on them that our offense is capable of a performance like today's! Wake pitched a good game, and we couldn't get anything going--just terrible!
  19. Dinardo may get wells next 3 starts as it looks at least that long before he can come back. The had chris snow on before the game and he said that it takes 3 different injections before it can be finished. One yesteday, one next week, and one the week after. So it will be at least 2 weeks before he could come back providing everything is going perfectly.
  20. I don't think he is saying we can't---just that the track record doesn't look too good. Every time we fact lilly or kazmir, we seem to make them look like cy young guys!
  21. Manny doesn't look good. I know he can turn it around and he started slow last year but he just looks uncomfortable at the plate. Taking good pitches and swinging wildly at bad ones! Come on manny, pull it together!
  22. I think this line-up can do some damage! Stern has been hitting well and cora should get on a couple times. We'll see what happens, but let's hope and pray for good things!
  23. I would love to see Theo toss the fatman out on his head (like uncle phil used to do to jazzy jeff on "the fresh prince of bel-air" if we got clemens back!
  24. That sounds good peter!
  25. I am sure it helps his confidence to have a stellar defence behind him. That year off was tough, but probably really helped him get rested for this year! He looks really strong, so this year looks promising for him!
