  1. Keeping Wells is the key to the Sox staff this year IMHO. Beckett was a very good signing, but time will tell how his transition to the ALE works out. Schilling, if healthy, and we only know what the media scribes are telling us right now, is still very capable of bringing it. Clement, with a kevlar helmet he may feel more comfortable, Wake - Faaak him, I hate knuckleballers.
  2. How have ya been Seano! You guessed right, see the intro postings.
  3. When you trade off all of your prospects for 5 years in a row that pretty much leaves you with having to start all over again. As a result, the Yankee farm system talent is at the A and AA level, right now. Yes the Sox farm system is much stronger but is also heavily laden in pitching. Not a bad thing necessarily, but there will have to be some moves made to give these young arms their break into the major league club.
  4. You're absolutely right! You see while I'm a Yankee fan I don't always agree with personnel moves the team makes. Couldn't stand Brown, don't care for Wright and the jury is still out on Pavano. Just for future reference - I'll join in on any A-Rod bashing.
  5. I could provide a list of talent in the minor league system but it would really be a waste of time considering you really don't possess the ability to hold an intelligent conversation on the issue.
  6. The Yankees finally did something this Winter that they have not done in a long time - they actually held on to their promising young talent and filled their needs without giving up rookies and minor league talent.
  7. And the Yanks had 75% of their starting rotation on the DL
  8. Yanks were 2.5 games back last April 15th and things still seemed to work out come October for the ALE title. Morning Seano!
  9. Haven't seen BL anywhere. We probably need to exchange e-mail addresses with each of the "regulars" in case this site gets shut down. Guns - I think he will be thrilled to know I found you all. Hey, we disagree sometimes, but we also have had some good topic discussions. I appreciate his input and he is unquestionably thorough in his research. I look forward to some more indepth topics where he and I can exchange our pov's.
  10. Nice to be back in friendly company. I didn't tell Hawk about this place but I did give him Sean and Paradise's home phone number and address. Hope that was okay
  11. Hi VA, good to see ya again Bronxbomber
  12. Hello all former members of the Forum and greetings to the regulars here at my new home on talksux (sorry) talksox.com. In my former life I was known as Bronxbomber but a variation of that screen name was already taken here and there can be only one original.
  13. Ham I am actually a reincarnation of a former Herald poster whose screenname here was already taken.
  14. Hammer He basically signed a "lifetime" commitment with the Stro's by agreeing to the 10-year personal services contract. It would not look good if he were to now leave Houston for NY or Boston, then return upon his "retirement" to work in the Stro's organization. I believe the intent of the contract was for Raja to finish his career in Houston then start the personal services contract. Houston did not offer arbitration because one, Roger still hasn't made up his mind whether he wants to play this season and two, he is a great pitcher but not at $18M in a part-time role.
  15. TMW JD should just keep his yap shut and play ball. We already have one media whore in the Bronx (Arod). Wish these guys in the pinstripes would learn, the Yankees were "quiet" during their last successful runs of the late 90's, leaving it on the field. These two "idiots" (ARod and now Damon) need to stay out of the press and perform on the field.
  16. Raja stays in Houston!!! He has a 10 year personal services contract when he "retires" for the final time with Houston. Keeping in mind the owners recent decision to cash in on Bagwell's insurance policy gives a bit of insight to his decision making philosophy. I don't believe Roger will keep that 10 year contract if he turns his back on the Stros at this point.
