  1. And yet nobody gave my argument about passing on Payrod during the fall sweepstakes any merit. Afterall, he does have the highest FAAK in the majors. In fact, he may be the biggest FAAKing d'bag in the history of the game.
  2. Agreed, even without an absolute zero quip.
  3. They released more September tickets today.
  4. The club did a great job with this event. NESN and WEEI were there broadcasting, coaches and a few players had autograph sessions, they had grab bags and really low priced concessions (like 6 chicken fingers for $3). We had our picture taken with the WS and ALCS trophies. And most importantly, everybody left the box office with a smile. I got all my tickets in section 92.
  5. I got the Patriot's Day Pack and the Sunday Best Pack, both right field box.
  6. Good point. BTW, how's TMW?
  7. I got my invite yesterday for this Saturday. I get to bring two guests so I'm bringing my brother and nephew/godson. The little guy is a rabid 7 year old Sox fan, he's going to be wicked pumped. There's supposed to be players, coaches, and alumni attending. I know most of the starters probably won't be there, but did anyone have the chance to attend last year? I'd like to know what to expect just to set a realistic expectation for my nephew.
  8. He also had Mark Loretta going to you guys last Friday. It's really worse than a soap opera.
  9. 66-40. So the pen is on record for 56 games? He's 15 decisions short for the starters, with all his numbers and formulas he has he should try to get a little closer than that. Unless they're not as valid as he'd like people to believe.
  10. I don't think it was a muscle he was pulling when he wrote that.
  11. This deal won't really be done until Santana has his contract with the Sox extended, at which time you can then immediately start thinking about a Beckett extention as well. Beckett was locked up by the June after his trade, certainly the same will be done with Santana. I think Beckett makes 10 next year followed by 12 then an option in 2010. I don't think it's too early or he's too old to be thinking about keeping him around longer or keeping him happy. Letting him know the door is open isn't the same as throwing out his current contract.
  12. Beckett should be the first person they call and let him know he's the team's #1 and the door is open to discuss a contract extension.
  13. OK, the way I see it is this: Yeszir, here is the chance to take your board to national prominence. Talksox.com needs to organize an official PAJAMA DAY at Fenway next year. Plenty of time to organize a stunt to stick out Watson and show support for Tito. Get on it, man!
  14. I e-mailed Dave Mellor to try and get a definitive answer on this.
  15. To me it is. Youk is a Gold Glove at 1st, can play a solid 3rd in a pinch, and does a ton at the plate. He just uses up arms with the amount of pitches he sees. Crisp is arguably one of the best defensive outfielders in the AL and may still be better at the plate than he's shown. I think the thumb injury took a long time to get right and a hand injury like that is crippling to a hitter, affecting both bat head speed and bat control. Lester has proven himself to be game ready. Lowrie is great trade bait at this point despite taking it on the chin in the AFL. Crisp, Lowrie, Lester or more likely Buchholz. A fourth would have to be a minor leager, IMO. I have no idea what the statisticians say on this one.
  16. "Don't trust anyone over 30" - Jack Weinberg "Don't sign anyone under 30" - Brian Cashman
