  1. howdy miss lynda did y'all enjoy your thanksgiving??
  2. every legit contender should be interested in haren, especially the mid market teams like detroit and the chisox types the fact is harens salary makes him more appealing than santana to 90% of baseball which makes getting him difficult as well. i think the sox are getting santana the steinberg brothers may have kept arod but only after arod realized he wasnt getting anything close to his ridiculous demands they got andy back, signed the aged posada and rivera but they havent really added anything new. the brothers are putting a deadline out there for a 27yr old 2x cy winning lefty? good it has as much validity as the arod negotiations. when your first act of business as owner is the arod fiasco when they appear completely full of s*** and you go against your word then respect is lost, not that hal and hank had a lot of that going in in fact they should be at the little boys table during the winter meetings with loria in miami and the pirates gm. the yanks need santana much more than we do and if they dont move on him then the signings of rivera petite arod and posada appear foolish because theyre content on retooling and waiting a year or more will anyone be better on the market than johan in the next few seasons? doubtful these 28 year old phenoms are rare lefty phenoms rarer
  3. that double wing everett runs is a thing of beauty combined with the o/line the size of michigans they're annually the best in new england and have been from 10 yrs i saw the 2nd half of the northbridge game... d/2 central colder than a whores heart thankfully the northbridge dads had some sense and coffee royals were flowing thru out gloucester high school continues to win every year i dont have any clue as to how a fishing village thats almost split 1/2 sicilian 1/2 portugese puts out a great football team every single year in a very tuff league with much bigger cities on their schedule i gotta think coaching effects football more than any sport
  4. you need to be cautious with oakland pitchers and if the yanks see santana go to the sox? drooling george may put hank and hal in the boat with al neri out in taho
  5. id bet under 400m
  6. no and based on what theyve paid out hes a bargain. they paid carl pavano 40M,moved on jarret wright and gave kei igawa similar money. i dont think they need to do that to get petitte in the bronx 2/28? with playoff incentives? i dont know i do know they'll give him and his thieving ****ing agents whatever they ask for
  7. carl pohlad should be ass raped by patrick ewing moses malone and the dallas cowboys front 4 just because hes the richest man in sports and treats his fans in a similar way.
  8. petitte will give them an inning eater but his days of being feared left long ago, about the same time they ordered george the felon to wear the hockey helmet 24/7. i can almost remember the day and time it happened it was a late october saturday nite in 2003 the reality is petitte is a solid starter if they pay him 16M theyre out of their f***ing minds but he is a guy who can help them for sure
  9. no s*** eh? good thing bc has some old money cause this is getting redundent. i was in miami last week burying my uncle,i had tix to saturdays game on the 50yrd line i gave them to a former business partner who now lives in jaxonville i had made arrangements for the orange bowl.....without my wife miami is a fun place if you like sultry, exotic, dark women, real good cocaine and rum punch instead? i'll be sitting in my parents living room drinking rot gut champagne listening to my dad try to breath thru his pall mall stained lungs while my mother lights a f***ing candle in every room in the house praying for his health. ya......i wanted bc to win in a bad way. what can i say they make the acc championship game in this guys 1st year 1st series on va techs 30,4th and 1 and he turns into tom obrien and the kicker turns into uwe von shank and scott norwoods bastard offspring and i took a xanax.
  10. not that it matters how i feel but you can take those win shares and stick em up roger clemens ass. john smoltz is 1 of the best money pitchers in MLB history and they have him tied in with kenny lofton and behind roger""my groin i mean my elbow i mean my hammy"" clemens? does anyone watch baseball anymore or is the average fan just pulling stats off msn.com to determine who value is higher? this isnt a dig at anyone on board here as much as it is to this new system of deciding who can play and who cant. we need a good night of book burnings mass arrests and random beatings to get everyone back to the mindset that pitching, above all, including hope prayer and dogma, wins in the post season and there are only a handful of john smoltz's josh becketts and chin mein wangs(LOL) out there.. aces those of you who played at a level that goes beyond hitting off a tee understand that when you bring a legit ace to the mound you have a certain swagger,a certain sense of confidence that says to the other team to basically stay home, you got no chance. that said danny haren is a good pitcher, however that oakland park is a cavernous hell hole for hitters.i have a bit of anxiety regarding santana in fenway but hes a better pitcher than haren. id be much hotter for santana if john lester didnt have balls like a gorilla and now the success that went with his efforts only reaffirms this kids value. f*** phil hughes and melky cabrerra the yanks need johan santana a lot more than we do considering they are coming to play with wang(confidence in the shitter, may get deported by steinbrenner)mussina(deep thinker, poor pitcher) and a cast of question marks the yanks must sell their souls and get this guy. if they get him theyre back in the fold as their offense wins them 80 games a year if they dont and truly want to rebuild? they will have some growing pains but will still be competetive based on offense alone, post season aspirations would be attainable but advancement unlikely
  11. anyone know where bc's kicker drinks on friday??
  12. im not bragging but i can pop my shoulder in and out like a culcutta showman its not that i disrespect his game kg hes had a tremendous year and a solid career its the incessant ball washing that is the routine every time this man gets national exposure ok its unfair to label him clemens becuase hes only retired once but leaving a football game early with injury is the equivalent of leaving 10 baseball games early and favre has now fallen twice against the leagues elite in 12 months. seperated shoulders have varying effects if hes truly f***ed up he wont be on the field whether they load him up with morphine dilotta b*12 cortizone or a good does of china white all have a blessed weekend rip uncle johnny part of my backbone is now missing
  13. brett favre the qb version of roger clemens? favre has had his best year in at least 5 years i feel and he deserves credit for the packs great season so far. lets go back to the last year. last time we saw aaron rogers was when favre went down with what appeared to be a broken arm against the pats last fall.. .rogers came in and was knocked out for the year with a broken foot meanwhile favre came back to play the following week. hmmmmmmmmn think that 5-14 56yard 2 pick effort had nothing to do with his injury last nite did it? why is it that this man who never missed a game cant finish against the better teams anymore? im anxious to see how banged up when its game time next week im prepared to eat my words. if he comes in like nothings wrong he gets a new name as opposed to brett he'll be refered to as roger the great old warrior, old blood and guts.....
  14. bellhorns hair was an issue the bastard rat look he wore in boston wasnt welcome in the bronx i liked loretta but i have no idea why they got him unless hes playing 1st
  15. did jones get over .230 this year? whats boras asking? 25m for 8 years?? jones had better days and being a pro since 19 has probably taken a step or 2 away
  16. why would anyone leave lsu where the recruits come to you as opposed to you going to them if lsu keeps 75% of their blue chips in Iberia they compete for the sec crown and hence forth the national title of course the maize and blue beckon les miles 110k people every saturday is enough to get anyone excited and all he has to do is be better than that stiff lloyd carr and they'll have actually beat ohio state and compete for the big 10 and hence forth by bidding for the national title as well. having been to detroit and baton rouge i prefer the women in baton rouge, despite them having webbed toes and fingers and a strange glow to their skin. the girls in michigan are plump, nasty and smell like sausage
  17. this is nys dilemma mj they dont want the sox to have 2 aces who have hit their prime and are still iunder 30 coming at them for the next 5 years and they dont want to lose the talented youth that they are counting on either. its nice being on top with pitching prospects as well as young studs who are already delivering.
  18. ya i have kg im pretty well versed on this subject why would the world champions who have a s*** load of pitching, perhaps 6 starters and established roles in the bullpen f*** around with a guy who hasnt pitched in anger in 4 f***ing years?? hi risk my ass joelle piniero and rudy seanez are high risk hi failure guys that we didnt need why add to this stiff to the payroll?? with all the young arms we have about to muscle their way onto the staff we have no business f***ing around with this guy. it makes no f***ing sense, none we saw a rehabbed version of kerry wood last year his name was gagne very similar k-9 ratio as wood has..... great stats dont lie but they dont reveal everything do they. strike 3 for theo on washed up s*** bags such as seanez pineiro and gagne and we are now discussing kerry wood? they maybe great in the national league, gagne actually had some success in texas but i am of the mindset the national league is rather inferior and texas isnt burdened with east coast pressures that gagne melted under. anything over league minimum with innings based incentives is a rip off if they get him for a bag of baseballs or off the waiver wire i would feel different i suppose. kerry wood maybe salvagable but why would we,with all these young arms vying for a chance, grab this guy up with sooooooooooo many question marks regarding his arm, stamina and desire? come july 30th if kerry wood is still on the field and not in rehab in bumblef*** texas we can gamble with legitimate knowledge of what we're gambling on. the price will be more expensive if wood is having success but not anymore expensive than the money pissed away on joelle pineiero rudy seanez and eric gagne not to mention how it effects the current members of our bullpen who have established roles..... i pass on kerry wood unless he comes free hes done nothing at the mlb level in 4 seasons which is a lifetime in sports
  19. can you picture ny trying to win a 4 game series while seeing beckett and santana 2xs each? i think as much as we want santana here its just as important that he dont end up in the bronx. we are working in our young guys at a good pace ny is actually in dire need of their young arms to show up and pitch 200 innings this year just to be competetive....if we dont get this guy i pray to christ the yanks dont
  20. francona has come a long long way in my eyes over the last 2 seasons as well. he is the manager,he got these guys peaking at the right time and we win the world series because of it josh beckett was the difference however schilling was solid as was the bullpen, paplebon was unhittable and the offense was consistant from soup to nuts...1-9 all contributed in 1 capacity or another. it truly was a team effort francona gets an A for not panicking and getting the men peaking at the right time. anyone want to discuss how well eric gagne contributed to this falls success? its ok to trust in theo i tend to trust 97mph fastballs and splitters that fall off the table a bit more
  21. why are we gambling here? i am of the mindset that pitching wins,we have depth for the 1st time in our lives at this position?? you take the 3.79 postseason era and translate that to the american league (5+) and you got a stiff,a complete f***ing stiff under pressure. 4 years later hes a gamble? how many surgeries has he had? how many years has he been shut down early? i gamble with the intent on winning do you guys who like wood play cards??
  22. he was born in florida city where his dad was police chief that place is nasty,a nasty ass town full of farm picking immigrants from mexico and the carribean the worst thing about florida city is most of its population ended up homeless after hurricane andrew in 92...that didnt befall the taylors but it turned an otherwise brutal community into the wild west. if you look at the florida map go to miami then look for the keys the last town in dade county is florida city before you hit monroe county and key largo was it a woman? or could it have been dope?? i dont know it was probabaly a simple b@e gone bad but its another dead black kid just the same
  23. anyone who gave jd drew 70M,julio lugo 36M and traded a 15 game winner for wmp should be examined by a doctor at spaulding rehab for head injuries. that said the drafting and development of our young arms has been a model for the rest of the league then he brought in ellsbury and pedroia, worked them into the lineup and had nothing but success. the young pitchers, the young position players and the way this team has been built for october is a great accomplishment but lets understand 1 more thing. we have the 2nd highest payroll in the league and that alone guarantees us a competetive lineup every april. theo has done lucky larry luchinos bidding for him but sometimes he gets distracted by shiny things... based on wins and losses he gets an A but i wonder how other men may do with the same resources.
  24. i think if they move on santana the negotiations on a new contract are done see the pedro martinez deal for an example
