thats the way i see it kiddo it is what it is. they want me to care about millionaires spiking themselves with chemicals? sorry,i cant ive been watching the nfl for a long time where you get banned for 4 games for smoking a joint yet they'll inject you with 50ccs of morphine with a side of cortizone to get you on the field with a broken bone protruding from your arm. this is why i dont like the drug policies of any league. they dont protect the ballplayers, they dont protect the fans and they dont protect the integrity of the game. guy twists his knee in 6 different knots they circle him on the bench, drop his drawers and stick a syringe directly into the wound while moving the needle back and forth and side to side to maximize the effect of the numbing agent.... this is ok as far as the league and players unions go? then this guy goes home after the game, crawls into his whirlpool, puts on his head phones and blazes up a j of skunk weed...... this will get your ass fired for 4 games or in the case of the retarded boys like ricky williams....it will get you a couple years off with no pay..

this is usually the time of the year where jacksonian begins his ""carl pavano will win 15 and heres why"" mantra. in 05 pavano was going to win 23 games randy johnson 28 and jarret wright 18. i miss those days of youthful exuberance and you can see in his posting that he has suffered immensely while also maturing over the last 4 summers. so its 2/18 how long before the FIRE JOE YERARDI chant begins? anyways the sox paid 20M for matt clement i think? the yanks gave jarrett wright the same money the yanks gave pavano 40M for 4 years as well the yanks also gave johnny damon 50m to play part time for a couple years almost time 6 weeks

lester has 2 years under his belt now including the world series clincher buckholz will not be needed out of the chute snyder is a decent 5th option if he can throw 100pitches and tavares is just as reliable as mike mussina is these days... but i suspect bucholz will be too good to keep down and he will have won the job in march. i feel a lot better about bostons staff than nys i wonder if wang tung is going to feel the hangover of being the worst pitcher in baseball last october? the idea of him being a #1 is now gone but they still will need him to give them 200ip with a 3.75 era and that in itself is extremely valuable and should get him 15-18 wins this year. the rest of the staff is debatable i wonder if andy petitte will have his dad around to get him thru the hard times of being a rat,a drug user,a cheater and a liar? i mean who knew? we all thought he was a stand up guy and a role model he is anything but a stand up guy and a role model. nice huh daddy feeding the 35 year old son roids? and he is the guy being viewed as the paragon of virtue in the mitchell report becuase he only lied a couple of times. mussina is finished hughes finished well last year chamberlain is in the bullpen and kennedy is a mystery

What will happen at the Congressional Hearing?

and if this posing dr was in your bed with your wifes ass raised in the air and he injects a needle that you refuse to use... into her body.....its still business as usual for the clemens family...this is what we're to believe i'll take the poor rat all day here -
becks dice lester wake buck tavares snyder and others 1-4 cemented 5th with a lot of depth and that 5 slot can be used for competetion which is always good.in march theyre deeper than ever and that makes me sleep well going into the grapefruit stretch

what he did at his peak was amazing, ive never seen anything remotely as dominant over time. the really amazing thing i saw? how he held on and finished the final 5 years of his 7 uear deal was the amazing thing cause in july 99 he f***ed his career up over throwing in the allstar game. as far as drugs go do i believe him? i seen his face explode in size in 1 off season,i think between 01-02 i think was the biggest difference,he threw with a torn labrum or a frayed rotator cuff, ended up with infections on his toe which really f***ed up his motion and assorted leg and other arm ailments would frequently keep him out of occasional starts. the man dont have a pitchers build god help baseball if this kid had ramones size and legs anyways i would bet that he used to build up some arm strenght and avoid surgery that would need to shelve him for a year,i think he new this in the fall of 99,probably sooner. theres no heresay or proof on my end just the body morphing, the head growing and the velocity falling all while peter becomes a pitcher as opposed to a thrower now men grow and gain weight but this kid was 175lbs in 98 throwing 95-97 religously with the change up and impeccable command at the end of his sox career he was a breaking ball pitcher with great control and knowledge of the hitters and he turned itno an effective al pitcher who could dominate in the nl west and al west series but had trouble in the east against everyone at the end. i hated to see him walk but 4/52 wasnt reasonable for a guy who struggled against tampa and flat out couldnt beat ny anymore think of becks and dice getting a combined 19M per and petey about 15? i think this year and we can give theo the W in passing on this guy,, even if it may have cost them a run in 05 which im not sure it did due to the combined injuries to the entire staff. now if the mets get into october and the sox are out of it im rooting for petey personally even though i hate all thats ny,even that taj majal over in flushing meadows which should be condemned as a f***ing eye sore

not to interupt this yankee circle jerk here but no one mentioned tim wakefield and his 175-200 ip with a 4.5 era and 15 wins that can jusifyibly be pencilled in not to mention the jules did an adequete job last year as a starter and the tall guy dee snyder should finally have the endurance to go 5 an outing if we need it a few times next year. the staff is deep for a change losing an arroyo and a schilling then wake destroyed 05 but this year we got a lot more to fall back on and these guys arent waiver wire rejects but uoung up and comers with huge upside and mlb experience already in hand hey if joba and hughes come out of the gate 16-3 at the end of june then the yanks are on their way but petitte has a lot of pressure all of a sudden on him and wang will feel the wrath early on if he reverts back to october, mussina is on the downside and the bullpen still rivera and the ?s...shawn chacon aaron small and al f***ing leiter wont be around in august to do the impossible id venture to say so the yanks will probably move on an arm come july if they feel its competetively sound down the stretch you get the sense cashman is done pissing away coin on s*** and this will be a telling story on where each franchise can expect to be not just next year but over the next 5 based on all the young arms getting their shot

What will happen at the Congressional Hearing?
Mr Crunchy replied to a700hitter's topic in Other Baseball
please if you cant be original find some of my better material if you want to plagiarize me. i know you can do better if you gave this some thought. you may be new to congressional hearings but lets for the sake of peace just say congressman are supposed to be seeking the truth, not autographs and photo sessions. this is what we do know. clemens is a big time GOP supporter brian mcnamee isnt a money maker for the democrats. clemens got a phone call from the president when these allegations broke.... mcnamee got a call from rusty the wonder lawyer accept it for what it is and then move on a lying cheating texan has his puss filled ass on the frying fan and he is positioning himself to be indicted under maybe a 1/2 dozen grand jury predicates for lying to congress, obstruction and other perjury related crimes. all he had to do was play the role of andy petitte. (this f***ing guy getting roids from his dad??) ""i screwed up,im sorry, forgive me,i love baseball,i apologize for getting congress tied up in this nonsense when the people in the northeast are spending 1000.00 a month heating their homes if they havent been foreclosed on"" something along these lines makes him a sympathetic figure and brushes this entire story away like a dried up texan turd sitting in the odessa sun. nope good for him being defiant till the end hopefully if he goes to jail he gets danbury rather than brooklyn to serve his time better food i hear and the danbury softball team has a need for a 6 ip guy who can eat some innings up. -

Mr Crunchy replied to a700hitter's topic in Other Baseball
memo to mr crunchy, you should have watched the whole hearing instead of picking up soundbites it was a sarcastic remark because she was grilling Raja on why he wasn't taking any action against the people who had allegedly misinformed him about the Mitchell report and he was being evasive about it and finally said that he was a forgiving person, to which the congresswoman gave that reply i saw this part of it hateme,in its entirety unfortunetly. it wasnt a female but a black rep from brooklyn who at the end of his questioning said this little gem about the hall of fame what i didnt see was who the mass rep was but i suspect it was steve lynch and no,i didnt see the part of the female grilling him but only this soundbite,1 of 10000 from yesterday that i found completely inappropriate... -

this is how i see it bb the entire mitchell report has been substantiated and ackowledged as true by everyone involved with the exception of raja and his crack defense team. clemens says petitte misunderstood him clemens says despite mcnamee being a complete and utter scumbag he kept him around because he(raja) was a forgiving person. ok i'll close my eyes and give him these 2 items but he did something else yesterday in front of congress he threw his wife under the bus he threw the mother of his children in front of a speeding greyhound and never looked back this to me is the epitome of raja clemens a fraud a complete and utter fraud who at this stage of his miserable existance will do or say anything to save his image including tossing the mother of his children under the bus. come on bb this maggot just threw his wife into traffic without looking both ways nor caring about the consequences. i dont always get along with my wife but i would kill everyone on this panel with a f***ing howe pliars and a blow torch before i implicated the mother of my children in something as sordid and sleazy as this s*** not to mention the humiliation that is being thrust upon karen kotex kobe and kathleen for being sired by this douchebag. i cannot for the life of me understand why these GOP reps and senators were going out of their way to defend this guy either.its as if he was running for president -
the only thing i can see from phoenix point of view is landing the 7+ foot behemoth to answer the other big men out west. in a limited roll shaq can help why they did this now, with oneill being as banged up as ever, strikes me as panicky.

look for hughes and chamberlain to be babied along until the yanks are 8 out come may 30 then they'll be put to the test i still have that image of joba trying to slap black flies of his bulbous head last october you would think he'd be used to bugs and other insects playing in the bronx -

anyone who saw yesterdays hearings and found raja credible needs a brain enema. good to see dan burton stand tall. 6 confessed extra marital affairs,1 illegitimate kid and he is pontificating about the truth?? what the f*** does this douchebag know about the truth? i also liked the congressman dressed in pinstripes, the whore who come out and said""i believe you're going to heaven raja"" and the ny rep who said""my collegue from massachusetts wants to know who's hat you're wearing to the hall of fame"" memo to the congressman you wont be alive to see raja in the hall of fame that boat is gone -
the suns need a defensive presence they still may even with this deal im not sure oneill brings this anymore nor has he in a few years he will rebound and in this offense should get 30 a night but he'll need to make his free throws and defend the low post better than he did in miami if phoenix is to move on. marion is decent but i feel hes a product of the system look for a dramatic fall off in scoring when he gets to miami

the sox can afford to roll the dice here till july anyways unless all these youngsters fail miserably and a veteran gets hurt i suspect we'll be fine. nothing like pitching depth -

Schilling requires major shoulder surgery
Mr Crunchy replied to jacksonianmarch's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
we can survive now where in past years this would destroy our entire staff due to lack of depth forcing people into different roles that they couldnt step into wake is a 200ip guy dont sell those innings short especially now with this guy shelved a good 5 man rotation should produce 975-1000 ip per year if 200 of them are eaten by a guy with a 4.5 era as a 4th thats great,as a 5th thats awesome,as a 3rd you're competetive but in a 2 spot you're pressing your luck.. becks has been injury free for the most part... i dont want to jinx him but based on his career hes due for a dl spot and not the vacation tito gave him last year but perhaps legitimate problems...he went real deep last year and those xtra innings are stressfull and take a lot out of you...hes the best money pitcher ive seen since schilling and johnny smoltz....better than i could possibly dream was becks last fall.....man i cant wait... look for dice to get better and more effecient lester is ready now...bucks can give you 150 i bet easily no worries here but a rather disappointed feeling about schill and how this plays out -
Schilling requires major shoulder surgery
Mr Crunchy replied to jacksonianmarch's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
well this is a bizarre and also an interesting scenario here forgetting about the competetive thing for a moment schillings efforts in the 04 playoffs were incredible and a risk to his career which at that point only would mean this 1 year deal wouldve been null had he not been able to return. thats how it worked out anyways now he signs for the short dollar and for 1 yr rather early on in the negotiation stages of free agency hes thrilled the brass is thrilled and tito i suspect is ecstatic having a vet showing the young guys all about proffesional pitching and how to prepare for a 35 start 200 ip season somethings amiss he was shelved a few miserable starts after the oakland 8 2/3 nono and came back to be effective down the stretch..it was our giant lead that allowed this to happen and it played out perfectly...still his power was just gone, rarely topping 90 and using a curve ball more than ever...his split was somewhat effective but hes a 200k a year guy who cant throw the ball by too many hitters anymore.. point is was he hurt?wasnt he administered a dozen mri's last year alone and i suspect b4 his new deal was insured this fall? nothing showed an injury in november?? im no orthopedic i do know a labrum or cuff means the season is toast out of gratitude the sox should eat the s*** sandwhich but if he was ruined before he signed and knew it then i think he should be held accountable and believe me if he was injured, not hurt, injured,he'd know it before any test was given -
didnt gates brown do some time? that tigers team always reminded me of a football/gangbanging crew of big men. from willie horton to ron leflore to denny mcclain, norm cash etc all could be gangsters or football players...some actually were both

a temp i worked with last year told me that powe had great upside as a powerman he's going to get a lot of minutes this year so he's got the oppurtunity to show himself

jesus christ gom i admire your brass cojones but ahh well anyways.... you ever arrange a meeting with a strange female and then discover upon introduction her picture was 15yrs and 150lbs ago? i met 1 woman from a sox site and another i got the skinny on both were just wonderful company ive also met a couple of great kids from vt ,1 we took to jamaica 12hours after we met the other took me to a yanx sox matinee after he got out of the airforce and visited every park in the country.....great experiences and i consider these men essentially family.. of course there was a bad scene involved with a psychopathic elderly woman who fell in love with the airman and stirred up a lot of s*** but all in all i had great luck meeting strangers on these sports forums but i keep everything in perspective. 1 guy we met had an apt over boston beer works which was sweet yaz and rician are 2 former studs from connecticut, both my age and we're all raising sons and daughters of the same age group while we age gracefully we've been together for our 5th year come spring. others have come and gone but all in all its been real fun for me personally imagine a yankee fan from jersey mailing me,a stranger he never met,200.00 bucks to chip in for opening day tickets for the airman who was desperate to get into the banner raising opener in 05....thru the old herald site i collected enuff money for the ticket which if i recall i paid over a grand for and then took the airman and his brand new wife from oklahoma to the north end for dinner at massamino's.. im not bragging but i could tell we made their trip a smashing success when they say its better to give than recieve they were talking about our crew coming thru for this kid and his bride without ever laying eyes on him or knowing anything outside his posts on the sox... would any of you consider giving up tix the day they raised the banner for the 1st time in 86yrs to a stranger you met online? try explaining to your 45 yr old wife why im getting mail from every state on the east coast from ft lauderdale to ft kent with checks ranging from 15-250.00 vucks with all kinds of s*** on the envelopes? anyways after the yanks won game 3 he posted a work of art about it not being over and even if they get swept hes still in love with the sox...i cant do it justice but it would make most of you cry if you read it..... someones got it saved somewhere i on the other hand left a 20 minute message with my friend screaming about humiliation, the franchise being moved to memphis and how soccer will now be my focus each april as we went down 3-0 and gave up 19runs... i guess my point is i would tread lightly if i had a 1on1 contact with a strange chick but if its the boys getting together for a beer or a ballgame its more relaxing tommy didnt you and brad gangbang red hat upstairs in beerworks?
