I see Jeter made the back page of this months Avon magazine again. Doesnt he have any self respect? The long eye lashes, soft hands and mocha skin should have him on the cover of Blew Boy monthly. Does he need the Avon endorsment that badly? Cant he say no to the makeup company in order to preserve his masculinity? What next? A massengail commercial is in line next...""I feel fresh"" is on the horizon...Jesus Christ what a f***ing salam...

The 1st time i heard manny say he was unhappy in boston comes 2 months after he got traded and 8 years of mvp like #s..I cant argue with anything he said in this article,Boston is a tiny city,Los angeles is 100 miles east to west and 40 north to south,he can hide in losangeles where there are other celebrities,in boston you have ben affleck...Lots of these guys feel smothered and the media in this town does run people out, nobody can deny this but the difference between a dan shaughnessy and a will mcdonough is shaugh is a sneaky little jealous pissant who thinks he invented the game while gammons would be more objective and a guy like will mcdonough would fight you, fight anyone for that matter. now we have the steve buckleys of the world, these goatee wearing ****s,tony mazzarotti who sounds like my bisexual aunt only more effeminate... Who gives a f***? Manny is the best hitter in the national league, we are trying to repeat as champions. The Mets collapse tells me Manny will be playing in Flushing next year while hopefully the sox are playing for their 3rd title in a row. We arent as good with Manny in Los Angeles, you're fooling yourself if you think we are but things happen and Jason Bay is a good hitter,a clutch hitter and a guy hungry for jewelry. i like our chances and I love LA'S chances against the cubs.... The only nl team that now frightens me is los angeles.. Brewers +145 Phillies -175 Dodgers +200 Cubs -240 ( WOW, thats a huge line ) Red Sox +105 Angels -125

Oklahoma has the best qb in the nation and actually has a lot of balance on both sides of the ball. bama is up and coming but will not finish unblemished in the sec,too long a road and a lot of guys lack the experience. saturday was simple mark richt vs saban 31-0 at the half should tell georgia fans exactly what their coach is all about when compared to the big boy coaches, richt loses big game after big game and everyone acts surprised, why? Georgia is top 10 material bama maybe top 5 material oklahoma is the best team in the nation and they may end with Lsu on their ass come january. Nice efforts by navy, oregon state and the mississippi rebels who had their states biggest win in 40 years..Good job by Houston Nutt who i think is one of the more innovative minds in the college game.

Manny Ramirez Trade Deadline Thread (renamed)
Mr Crunchy replied to TheKilo's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Y'all dont see the behind the scenes hatchet job this front office has done to him since they arrived here? I reiterate. their 1st act of business as owners was to waive him. they didnt extend him after winning the world series last year. never, not once in his career did i hear him clamoring for a trade, i read about it,i heard about it on the radio but the only words that came out of his lips over the last 8 years were ""I WANT TO RETIRE HERE""or I WANT MY # ON THAT WALL....then june and july came and John Henry was called out by Manny saying he was promised contract negotiations in good faith and they never came to be.. Henry called him a liar and it was game on... Then and only then did Manny for the 1st time come out on the record and demanded a trade. If anyone has Manny saying he wanted a trade before this year I'll be shocked because all I have read is innuendo,******** and the ****s like Buckley Callahan and others. In closing I can put up with fighting Youkilis but if you look back at my posts when he put his hands on the clubhouse guy I predicted that wouldnt be the end of it,we hadnt heard the last of it and ultimatley that was the end of his career in Boston. We did a good job down the stretch and Jason Bay has played well in this difficult setting but Manny was something special and we will be hard pressed to ever get a hitter like him in Boston ever again. Thats all I will ever say about this again on this board. -

Some of you guys are pretty quick not all of you some of you ought to be sterilized but some of you are very bright indeed and give me high hopes for the future of the human race. -
Ha i laid 24 with usc last night and knew i was done at the half so i laid 14.5 on usc in the 2nd half thinking theyd make a game of it. they grab the 2 quick tds and im watching the dwarf 1/2 back run wild,State then scores but blows the PAT.... then i grab the back door td and cover the 14.5 via a 21-6 2nd half score.... I am feeling very fortunate this morning

you got a good eye Kg i didnt intend for it to read that way but you picked up on it anyway. How are you on financial statements produced by criminals? -
Lincecum got smoked by the rockies wednesday night but both he and cain are up and comers. too bad they invested 100M in barry zito or too bad he didnt work out as they planned or they'd have a pop in the woeful nl west. The Padres and Seattle are 2 clubs that shouldve been in the hunt this year, each team has been THE biggest bust in their respectful leagues as far as im concerned. The Reds went out and signed Harang and Arroyo to big deals, they got that kid from Texas for Hamilton and Johnny Cueto who maybe a decent pitcher next year, mix in Cordero and perhaps a set up guy and they could be in business next year but only if Harang and Arroyo pitch to form. the NL central has the Cubs and then the rest of the division is meat,Milwaukee will be worse next year when Sheets and Sabby walk,Oswald and Houston arent that good and St Louis has essentially no pitching either...Cinci could threaten if all their ducks line up properly. What happened to Harang? hes what? 4-15 now?? a disaster,a completely f***ing disasterous year

f*** him. he had a legit pop to win a title and contribute heavily,i had high hopes for him after his decent starts. he failed he didnt want to make the effort and i wonder if his friendship with manny had anything to do with this? in any case we move on. -
i want to see paul byrd go 6 + with 2 earned and about 6 hits he was effectiive last fall for cleveland

I just heard tony kornheiser defend matt millen on PTI. Sorry kids,im going to cut off my ear as i have now heard all the ******** i can tolerate for a lifetime. Denvers gotta have home field if they want to move on. its their history in a nutshell, they can win the afc with homefield,if they dont get it then its likely they watch the superbowl at home. is buff or jax legit enuff to k.o one of the former elite clubs like indi the pats or pitt? lots of questions and i still think the pats will have something to say about this come december

congrads to the yanx are in order for they had a great run and deserve accolades for such incredible success over the last 15 years. seriously that was a great achievment and i think torres best years were 05-6-7 because their staff was toast and he still made the playoffs. i hate the f***ing yankees today is better than christman morning and a blow job from the fat chick in the mail room. that said regarding the 2 main ingrediients on Goms wish list Ben Sheets is down again and he has f***ed a reeling Milwaukee team in the last 2 weeks. Call him the JD Drew of the pitchers, love the guys stuff but he tends to get dl'd and often Unlike beckett who was a dl guy this mans had some bad injuries, though young, he is a risk that will cost a fortune to get.Id klove him here too but would balk at whats gotta be a 100M investment. Sabby on the other hand is a hoss,1000 ip over the last 4 campaigns and most of them mattered. he owned the a.l last year and if memory serves me right he had a great alds. i also saw his ass get bludgeoned in his biggest game ever. that said he looks like he ate david wells and how long will those knees support that gigantic set of thighs and ass....another 150M is on the table with this guy and ya,hes young but buyer beware. he would be huge for ny in the right handed hitters grave yard in left center(new place same dimensions?).id love to see him here too but i cant see theo gambling with all our young pitching depth so youre talking around 250M for sabby and sheets i gotta thing, add 200 for tex and you got a west african nations gnp. im not saying these guys arent going to deliver but i gotta think only the yanks, maybe chicubs and the west coast teams will be bidding in earnest for the 3. i consider the sox out of the running with all our younguns and youk playing mvp calibre 1st base,5-6 years in the playoffs and almost guaranteed to be favorites to repeat the al east next year and this year we're playing our best ball now. The owners are entitled to make a few bucks, look for the payroll to stay the same or even decrease a bit and we can almost afford it cause the staff is so young and the old guys play cheap. beckett is going to be expensive to retain and id say by 11/1 they best have him happy.

Hopefully and this is a big one but hopefully they sat drew for this extended period of time to make sure he was going to be healthy for the run. herniated disks dont heal overnight and it can take the most easy task and turn it into a painfilled adventure..Since theyve been threatening to play him for a month now i can freely assume that tito sat him this long on purpose with the intent on making his as healthy as possible. or he is in a situation where he wants to give it a go to see if he can or cant. we need his bat, this isnt in dispute,we need his bat and his OBP and his presence adds some ummmmph to the lineup. but lets not get too hopefull backs are a bitch and they dont heal overnight and 1 moment your fine and the next youre on the dl for 60 days... i wont argue the fact that we need him and i am hopefull he can be productive but as my sainted grandmother used to say"'s*** IN YOUR LEFT HAND THEN HOPE IN YOUR RIGHT SEE WHAT FILLS 1ST"" she also said dustin pedroia would need to lift weights for 25 years to be classified as a lesbian so what the f*** does she know.

1 thing we have seen this year is the emergence of Jon Lester as one of the elite lefties in the game. hes done this all season, incredibly consistant #s and the story behind the story is beautiful in itself. dice k too we forget that he is 18-2 with a sub 3 era,i cant stand to watch him pitch and i think he boors the piss out of the opponents but goddam hes been effective and been getting deeper into the games. we are peaking at the proper time and in all honesty the team that frightens me most is in florida.
-
Defensively they are soft but that can change over the year. they wont be seeing the patriots with brady and they wont be seeing indi cause i think theyre finished without home field in the playoffs...I cant see indi going to colorado outside in january and winning.
-
Nobody should start except Beckett. Hes never lost a playoff series, has been simply lights out every time it mattered and is emerging from a disappointing regular season into playoff form and i assure everybody that he is the most feared man in the game now. There are arugments for the lefty or dice k but in a 5 game set who do you want if it goes to the deciding game? Becks is amongst the best ive ever seen in his young career,a Jack Morris type a guy who can be beaten until october when he is absolutley the prick of pricks on the mound. There shall not be a debate about this unless becks is hurt.

Matt Millen should be publically executed in Detroit. He is the guy who bad mouthed Joe Paterno when he played at Oakland and his most notable hit in the pros came when he attacked Patrick Sullivan at the end of the Patriot Raider game back in 1985 when the wild card Patriots smoked the Raiders and Patty boy decided he would discuss what he thought of Howie Long after the game and on the field...Millen swung his helmet at Sully and it was his best hit of the day... How can you draft so high for so long, have all the cash you need to spend at your disposal and still suck? ask millen he accomplished this. The Lions have some players but they need to start again from scratch, build a defense 1st,find a running game and use these talented wideouts that they have...Teams in the NFL can turn it around faster than all the other sports because of the salary cap..The NBA has the draft where 1 man can make that much of a difference, baseball is harder to go from bottom to top but the Rays pulled that off this year but had a lot of the pieces already together...The Lions arent that far away yet they have 1 playoff win in my lifetime that i can recall...43 years and 1 playoff game i remember them winning.. Thats f***ing putrid. Jay Cutler is coming into his own and Denver is playing well, they need a running game which is something that theyve usually had since shanahan took over, their run block schemes are unique if not a tad dirty, lots of weapons and i think they could go to the dance in february. Tony Romo is great, has a ton of weapons but he hasnt won anything yet,if he doesnt win this year it may never happen, owens and the salary cap issues will get them eventually. Aaron Rogers is going to be great, there will be growing pains i suspect but he is playing very well and i expect him to get better as the year goes on,this team could be the team to beat come december if they stay healthy.

Red Sox to retire Johnny Pesky's #6
Mr Crunchy replied to riverside sluggers's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
problem is rico petrocelli wore #6. i have no issue with retiring his # but if Jim Rices # isnt up there then they can take them all off with the exception of 9 -
Im dropping this too. Peace even though Naples is as much of a f***ing dump as the bronx is...OK i had to being 1/2 a greaser myself i couldnt resist.... Theyve had a miserable time with the garbage removal being ignored for 18 months now...Same as here, the goombahs run the trash removal business over there and when they want it stopped it stops, the streets are overflowing with rotting garbage and its become a real health issue. Enjoy the last week of the season,it will get better for you guys come next spring. Tommy boy you coming up this weekend? bc uri saturday afternoon?? I suspect the sox are a day game but if they start at 330-4pm i can get you out of the heights at 230-3pm and on the C train for the 1st pitch. Its not BC NOTRE DAME but URI i dare say will give this offensively defeciant bc team a run. Your call Im holding 2 tix for you....and if you need lodging let us know...You and david can share his room and your chick can stay with me and robin in the big bed.... in any case let me know,i havent seen you since wade millers only victory in boston and id like to get together for a beer or 30.

26-6... im stupid, you cant count but im stupid.... im from massachusetts, originally from somerville and now live in central mass in a quiet little village that is 25 miles west of the city. You say""venture a few blocks"" i have on several occasions made this venture in the day light and it resembles harlem without the music and rao's resteraunt... Theres a caribean resteraunt up the hill from stadium(stans on your right, heading toward the stadium on your left but take a right instead) across from the subway station before the 159th st stop that serves ox tail and curried goat which is nice play, when i go to Jamaica I dont dare eat the american food they serve so I do have a taste for the caribbean dishes....but i only go there in the light at night the only thing i see is eyes and teeth and bad intentions. Have you made this venture after dark? You're calling me stupid and you walk around there after dark? Ive been going to the see the yankees in the bronx when you were still s***ing yourself in your don mattingly underoos. ive been in that building when they were good when they were bad and when they were indifferent. Day games are fine, you did read that right? how are those little diners and gift shops doing after the game when it looks like Moses leading the Jews out of Egypt in an effort to escape that s*** hole. I reiterate for those who have a grasp on reality. AFTER 10PM there isnt a soul venturing out of the immediate vicinity of the ballpark which is 159th and jerome...seriously,you know this and are either failing to admit it or simply dont know what you're talking about. Meanwhile fenway is jumping until dawn. You maybe one of the minorites that feels comfort being amongst your own in the bronx,i on the other hand prefer to be in an environment where I dont feel compelled to carry a sidearm when im with my family or a lady. I liked Fordham,my cousin played football at Fordham,Rose Hill is very nice area but it doesnt cleans the rest of that s*** hole... my brother lives in ny,im hardly a stranger. In fact up till next year it was cheaper for me to drive to nyc,get a room, take the family out for steaks in manhatten and take in a game at the stadium than it is for me to scalp 4 for the yankee sox game in boston and go home.. I see the Stadium and Fordham, which is in decent neighborhood but outside that i dont see a f***ing thing worth keeping in the bronx..... You ever hear ""Honey lets go down to the Bronx for a cup of coffee"" or ""Hey its a nice summer day, lets take an evening stroll down to the Bronx..... or Hey Grandma want to go for a ride into the bronx?? Of course you never hear this, you know why? Its because the place, the burrough you speak of, is a f***ing dump with few exceptions. When staten island and queens look down upon you then its a sad state of affairs and ya,the last time i parked my car in the bronx was when david wells beat the yanks on a sunday night back in may 05,i came in from tarrytown and i paid 12-15 bucks and told the kid to keep the change so i could choose where i wanted to park... have the prices increased since? fenways been 40.00 to park since jesus wore short pants. but im stupid...im ignorant....i dont know s***? Stick to google, I tend to believe what i pay out of pocket and see with my own eyes rather than do my arguing from googling..I have seen the south bronx with thine own eyes and the fact is the yankee fans would be better served playing somewhere else...You arguing that some diner in the south bronx is a good reason to build a billion dollar stadium doesnt fly with me...They stole the land and built where it was cheapest for them to build...Hank and the other Fredo dont give a f*** about some diner, they care about $$$... Remember now I am stupid you're trying to convince this board that the bronx neighborhood is a garden spot. I am the stupid 1. I have nothing against yankee stadium, nice seats, decent service, fairly close to the field and real easy to get to but the neighborhood f***ing blows,it blows today,it will blow tommorow and it will blow next year. But dont take my word for it because i am stupid. I encourage all of you to take a nice walk down 157th street around 11pm on a wednesday night in february and get back to us with the charm and beauty you discover.
-
I been there a dozen times or so mainly for saturday afternoon affairs with the sox. 1pm starts in the bronx are generally nice events and when the sox are in ny on a saturday you got 20,000 brothers and sisters in the park... Been there on a tuesday night against baltimore about 15 years ago and it was completley different, the place had 15,000 empty seats and a hint of anger at every point of contact be it the subway token folk, the hot dog vendors or the beer guys....then walking out of there at night time with a woman on your arm is a different feel altogether..english is the 2nd language and theres a sense of anxiety hanging over you like a f***ing mistletoe under a fat womans door... everyones eyes are kept down, making eye contact is considered a threatening gesture and if you walk 1/2 a block in any direction you are literally taking your life into your own hands. the cops are f***ing miserable, sardonic sarcastic and basically your stereotypical pigs. fenway wasnt all vanilla pudding but it would take you a real long walk before you ended up in the jamaica plain area or way down into the old south end district but since the gays bought up all the old brownstones it has become a rather toney area to reside in... it wasnt always that way. i reiterate,if the yanks were really thinking about neighborhood investment they wouldve moved over to whiteplains, north jersey or even the west side perimeter but because they essentially stole the land they built the new park on it made more fiscal sense to stay where they were. Of all the parks i been to it isnt the worst place ive seen but it certainly isnt the place i want my ashes dumped on.. The final nail in the stadiums coffin is in...Lots of misery was bestowed upon me in that building but i also have seen my share of good times there... those last 2 playoff games in 2004 were the most memorable games in sox history. between schilling owning them in game 6 and derek lowes shut down sinker and damon taking vasquez deep in game 7 were things i wont soon forget...the yankee comeback in game 7 2003 has to be one of their most memorable games, watching josh beckett on that saturday night shut them out 2-0 made that pain a little easier to swallow as 55,000 went home in disbelief... Chris Chamblis walk off homer off Mark Littell in 76 or 77 was unforgettable,i always liked chamblis.... lots of great baseball played there.. heres a very fitting note from my personal idol,Ole blood and guts Raja Clemens and his thoughts... http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/mlb?cnn=yes Estranged former Yankee Roger Clemens was "heartbroken" when his former team left him out of Sunday night's Stadium-farewell festivities, which included a video montage honoring the Bronx Bombers' greatest pitchers - but not him, a relative told The Post yesterday. Clemens was sitting at home in hurricane-ravaged Texas, in front of a battery-operated television on his living room couch, when the team delivered a final crushing blow to its former star. Clutching wife Debbie's hand on one side and mother-in-law Jan Wild's on the other, Clemens tuned in to his final team's last home game hoping for some recognition for helping win two World Series titles, Wild said. But that Rocket never launched. When the team played the video celebrating its greatest players at every position, the steroid-scandal-scarred Clemens was nowhere to be seen. "Debbie and I held his hand while we watched the game, and he was heartbroken," said Wild, 70. "Not mad. He still loves baseball and the Yankees, but it was sad what they did to him." HEARTBROKEN...tommy,quick,get me a tissue.... im going to weep. Memo to Raja. Ny isnt texas you aint s*** in nyc anymore outside of Georgies girl, suzy waldman and those other knob polishers like Michael Kaye and Charlie Steinberg you are an embarassment to this proud organization and their millions of legitimate fans who actually believed in you.... You wont have this problem in Boston you filthy **********,theres a 100,000 fans that would throw double d batteries at you given the chance. diddling little girls, lying to congress, throwing your wife under the bus and underachieving in every big game you pitched here, forever giving you the name of Mrs David Stewart, sealed your fate. Steroids are 1 thing. Character and lack there of are another matter gagging every game that mattered is still another blot on your resume and may you suffer eternally and do some time in a real prison before this is over.
