  1. I understand the big bat part, but we could probably get a decent bat for a lower price. Besides, if we're going to make room for Pap, I'd rather dump Clement.
  2. Yeah, I may have gotten a bit generous there...but I say at least 5 of them will deliver.

  4. YS013, for the ones like first opening day player on the DL and stuff like that, that's for the Sox, right?
  5. Dont worry about it SF. We all have our days...
  6. Haha Schill you beat me to it
  7. OKAY, now you have the Cardinals beating the Padres in the NLDS and then you have the Pads losing the NLCS. What next?
  8. Soxfan#1. He had Texas winning the West, and Cleveland taking the wild card but then he had Anaheim beating Boston in the ALCS.
  9. Sureeee, NOW delete the post...
  10. Wait, how do you have the Angels going to the WS...you have Texas winning the west and Cleveland taking the WC... lmao
  11. Ahahaha the Mets winning the WS...
  12. I would be THRILLED. Maybe a bit optimistic, but not ridiculous...
  13. Even if Jamal Lewis is never the same player, Schilling isn't going to be getting put on the turf by 260 pound linebackers 15 times a game...
  14. Indeedly. Although there aren't too many MLB pitchers with a 70 MPH fastball, except maybe Wake and he can go a little over 70.
  15. Even if he's a Yankee fan, I'm going to have to side with ATG13 on this one, control is a bit more important than velocity. No doubt, velocity is very important, but if you can't throw strikes or hit a location, you're going to get hammered.
  16. You forgot A-Rod. (see: Slappy, 2004 ALCS)
  17. Hitting under pressure is important, Papi is not going to get up every time in the ninth. Okay, bro, you'd rather have Abreu, I'd rather have Lee. I'm done.
  18. Last time I checked, the home run derby is different than a tie game in the ninth. Oh yeah, did you happen to catch that slump after the Derby? Did you just say RBIs? Lee lead the national league in RBIs last year. Plus Lee is two years younger, slightly cheaper, and can actually play under pressure. Trust me, I've actually seen Abreu play. He sucks under pressure, gets buried in the count, and is a streaky hitter. I'll take Lee over Abreu any day.
  19. Lee is way better than Abreu. Abreu is like A-Rod, he only does well in the third inning when his team is up four runs. He can't play under pressure, in Boston he would be eaten alive. You should've seen this one guy at the Vet launch a hot dog from about 20 rows up that nearly hit Bobby.
  20. Even so, decent prospect and you're still losing Arroyo... Like I said, WHY TRADE ARROYO AND DECENT PROSPECTS FOR HIM WHEN WE CAN SIGN HIM AND LOSE NOTHING BUT MONEY!!!!!!
  21. They usually don't give out gold gloves to bad fielders.
  22. He said the corner OF positions.
  23. What are you talking about? Even if we resigned him it would be a terrible move because we just traded Trot, Arroyo, Murphy and a pitching prospect for a few extra months of Lee. Plus there would be a chance that he didn't resign with us. I wouldn't trade Trot, Arroyo, Murphy and a pitching prospect for Lee at the deadline, because we can just sign him at the end of the year and we don't have to give anything up except money!!
  24. Oh yes, the fielding stats are very telling.
  25. Why would we trade all that for a rental when we can just sign him after the season?
