True, but it can be unfair that AL West teams have less competition, and NL Central have more, regardless of the teams. -

God, sometimes I think if Brian Scalabrine by some insane twist of events scored 81 points in a game, you might compare him to MJ... Oh my gosh. One pass! Well it was a nice pass so that must make him the best or one of the best...

Yeah, but here's the problem with players like him. Kobe is what you might call a "gunner." He shoots a lot, and if he's not making them, he'll continue to shoot until they go. That can really hurt his team, and you can't expect him to be in the zone every night.
