  1. They just changed it to a hit
  2. I never said to trade him at the deadline and they shouldn't. All I said was to offer arbitration to net the draft picks because its doubtful he is brought back.
  3. He may want to come back. But whats to say the Red Sox even want him back at his age, his diminished offensive power, and at his current price.
  4. 82 pitches through 5 innings for Lester
  5. the shift is pointless period with men on base
  6. Lester looking uncomfortable so far
  7. 30 homers before the break sets a franchise record.
  8. Yes and having 6 homeruns at the All-star break from a #5 hitter is good as well. He's not worth the money and is on the downside of 30. Get the picks while you can for this guy because you never can count on him to stay healthy.
  9. NBC/Sunday Morning at 9am I believe....Breakfast at Wimbledon they like to call it.
  10. Tonight’s lineups: Red Sox 1. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 2. Mark Loretta, 2B 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. Manny Ramirez, LF 5. Jason Varitek, C 6. Mike Lowell, 3B 7. Gabe Kapler, RF 8. Coco Crisp, CF 9. Alex Gonzalez, SS -- Jon Lester, SP White Sox 1. Pablo Ozuna, LF 2. Álex Cintrón, 2B 3. Jim Thome, DH 4. Paul Konerko, 1B 5. Jermaine Dye, RF 6. Joe Crede, 3B 7. Juan Uribe, SS 8. Chris Widger, C 9. Brian Anderson, CF -- Mark Buehrle, SP
  11. Well the Red Sox see potentially a power hitting corner outfielder who is 24 years old unlike a 32 yr old outfielder on the downside of his career. My predicition is arbitration is offered, Sox don't make a real offer and Nixon walks with the Sox netting 2 first round picks.
  12. welcome to the site.
  13. Trot is a nice player and all but he is not an 8 million dollar a year player. If the Sox truly wanted nixon back they would have never traded for Pena. The writing is on the wall for nixon with Pena here. The Red Sox will make a business decision by offering the arbitration to net them 2 draft picks.
  14. The Sox will offer him arbitration and that is likely all. They don't trust him enough to stay healthy for an extended period of time.
  15. Because he is an extreme fly ball pitcher who has gotten killed recently in Pawtucket. He was a wasted pick by the Red Sox and you now see why they are staying away from drafting abe alvarez type pitchers earlier in the draft.
  16. He has a very good arm.
  17. It's over....Federer cruises easily into his 5th straight Wimbledon final with a 6-2, 6-0, 6-2 win over unseeded Jonas Bjorkman. Just give him the trophy now folks.
  18. Roger Federer is toying with Jonas Bjorkman so far...... 6-2, 6-0, 4-1
  19. Bard likely shutdown once he signs this year. Likely Greenville or Wilmington to start next year and depending on how quickly his secondary pitches develop could be in the big leagues by late 2008 early 2009. Bryce Cox is the other pitcher I can see shooting right through the system after he looked electric at the CWS.
  20. The sox offer him arbitration for the 2 draft picks and he will likely sign somewhere else netting us 2 more picks.
  21. Usually the players will play in the DSL and if they are good enough will go to minor league camp the following year and then likely to the GCL in Fort Myers. Usually the top prospects you want to see in the GCL 1 year after they sign.
