  1. I'm really impressed with this Sabres team. They have surprised me alot because they play well as a team without having that many big name star players. I like them to win the Eastern Conference right now.
  2. Both teams have July 20th . The Rangers play in Toronto on the 19th before they head to Chicago to face the White Sox. The Sox will be concluding a homestand before heading Seattle on the 21st. So the Rangers could stop in Boston to play a single game before going to Chicago.
  3. Soto is not a middle infielder anymore. He was moved to right field last year.
  4. Fans should hold their tickets for Sunday's game pending an announcement by the Red Sox on a make-up date. The game will either be made up during the Rangers next trip to Boston in June or on a mutually agreeable open date later in the season, possibly July 20. The Red Sox have already announced that Saturday's rainout will be rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on a date to be determined during the Rangers next trip to Boston, which takes place the weekend of June 9-11. Tickets for Saturday's game will be honored when that make-up game is played in June. From the Red Sox Website
  5. Jacoby Ellsbury and Jed Lowrie are both another a week or so away. They’re in Wilmington getting treatment, but aren’t 100 percent yet.
  6. Ryan Phillips is getting a lot closer. He’s playing long toss and will also be throwing batting practice on Monday.
  7. Luis Soto fractured the hook of his hamate bone and had surgery four days ago. The healing process for that is about six weeks, so he’ll be out until late June or early July.
  8. Wasn't Chen removed from the Orioles rotation? I could have sworn they just removed him from it.
  9. Both games will be made up when the Rangers come back in June. 5 games in 3 days. Likely the Sox will have to call up 2 pitchers for that series to start. Lester and Alvarez are the 2 likely candidates.
  10. Pitchers probably did steroids and I am in agreement with but Pedro who likely did not pitch on steroids had to face hitters on steroids and pitch with a lower mound than Koufax did. Give Pedro a non steroid era and a higher mound and I love see to the numbers he would have put up.
  11. Pedro at his size really did steroids.
  12. likely on the Saturday it will be a DH.
  13. Sandy Koufax did not pitch in the steroid era nor did he pitch with the lower mound they have today. Pedro's 1999 season is truly one of the best in history given those two things I just said.
  14. Conrats to Cla Meredith for getting a call up to the San Diego Padres and getting your first Major League win in relief today.
  15. Dotel was a bust as a closer in Oakland. When healthy he can be a pretty dominant setup man and it was a solid move by the Yankees to sign him but I don't know what you can expect out of him this year. 2007 is the year I could see him revert to being a dominant pitcher.
  16. Sox fans could care less about what dirtdogs posts. They are a trashy site
  17. cheer pedro......and why would you believe anything dirtdogs says.....that site has no credibility and does not speak for red sox nation.
  18. minor shoulder problems....nothing that I would be concerned about more than I would someone like Burnett who can't stay healthy.
  19. Beckett also went on for blisters most of the time which hardly compare to the elbow problems that Burnett has been dealing with.
  20. Beckett pitched a shutout in the WS and doesn't have the injury history like Burnett. AJ can't stay healthy for a season. I'm taking guys that have done it before over guys that have not 100% of the time.
  21. No the Red Sox will just win them outright instead
  22. Today's game is rained out according to the Red Sox website......Lenny Dinardo will also be skipped over again as it will be Beckett v.s. Millwood at 2:05 tomorrow weather pending.
  23. They might not be good defensively but his stats basically show that he is pitching horrible and its not his defense. 1-4 6.22 ERA 30K's 16BB 1.58 WHIP.......His defense really can help change that. He is not pitching well in a league that is not that good.
  24. If both games this weekend get rained then there has to be 2 double headers in June. The Sox have an offday on that Monday but the Rangers are playing the White Sox. That Saturday in June is a definite DH day and if Sunday gets rained out as well they will make it up either on the Friday or Sunday as another DH.
