    He makes solid contact almost in every AB but everything seems to find a glove.

    I was at Yankee Stadium for his last appearance. The out of shape slob got winded running in from the bullpen and then hurt himself during his warmups. He never threw a pitch that night or ever again.

    I am baffled at what gave the FO hope that he would regain velocity. Was he throwing harder last September? When a pitcher has been injured, don't they usually audition for teams? Masterson obviously has nothing. I can't imagine what they thought they were getting.

    What strikes me is the inflation in Dumpster Diving. The going rate used to be $5 million for the likes of Smoltz and Penny. $9 million is ridiculously high for a Dumpster Dive. Ben establishing a new market value.

    Without 90+ velocity, Masterson is a sitting duck. He needs to go to the pen. He should be the first rotation change.

    We need him to be our hammer, because we have nothing else going for us. It wasn't a bad start, but not a typical top of the rotastion guy -- just too many hits and too many balls in the air.

    This one would have been worth staying up to watch, but I turned in. Nice win. So so appearance by Porcello. HE looked more like a #3/4 tonight than a #2. The team got it done. Panda came through. Go get them tonight. Kimmi, keep the mojo going.

    The A's are a bad team. We shouldn't lose to these guys. Didn't Ogando used to be a starter. Maybe they should consider putting him in the rotation. It might be an improvement.

    Rookie base running mistake by Pali getting picked off second base, but it might get overturned.

    Porcello's line thus far is 5 innings, 9 hits and 3 runs in 101 pitches. That is not the performance of a bona fide #2.

    Craig went down to make room for Bradley. I looked it up. Luis Jimenez got sent down to make room for Victorino. I didn't realize that guy had been up.
