    No one is saying that it is a great metric to judge a Golden Glove award, but 29 errors at this juncture is a big number, no matter how it is sliced. The true number may be more than 29. We just don't know. I hope that the organization is giving his fielding appropriate attention and not blaming the official scoring.

    One of the discussions on NESNs pre-game show is the huge miss not getting Nelson Cruz 2 years in a row. Supposedly, Ortiz recommended getting him both times and Cruz wanted to come to Boston. Our FO never even kicked the tires either year. Not even a phone call. In 2014 we went with the Grady Sizemore experience and Cruz took a 1 year contract with the Orioles. In 2015, we gave multi-year deal to Hanley to change positions and Cruz went to Seattle to continue leading the league in HRs. The fact that NESN is airing this as a " huge miss" is telling. I still think Cherington is gone at the end of the year.

    That is a head shaker. I remember Orlando Cepeda hitting 4 doubles in in a game in 1973.

    Bradley with 2 home runs and 3 doubles. In 1 game, he out- produced his performance all of last year in 500 plate appearances. Maybe he has figured it out.

    Tanaka was very good. Yankee pitching is very underrated. Last week, even though the Jays swept them, their hitters didn't break out against the Yankees.

    Bradley taking King Felix deep to CF. He is starting to look good at the plate. He's not just looking not bad. He is seeing the ball well, exhibiting confidence, and making good contact.

    We also don't know if he butchered other balls that were scored as hits. I think it is safe to say that he needs to work on his defense.

    Yes, Castillo is starting to play like the player that we hoped he would be. Hopefully, he will get even better. I have liked Shaw's live bat since Spring Training and was surprised that most people considered him a career AAA roster filler type. What do we do with Hanley? I am unconvinced that he will improve enough in LF to justify keeping his bat. I see 2 choices for him. Move him to first base before 2015 is concluded to see if he can handle it or trade him and eat a chunk of his contract. I am not in the camp thinking that he is our DH in waiting. Ortiz, our best hitter again in 2015, will be back at DH in 2016. Even if he slides next season, he is likely to get enough ABs to vest for another season. If he vests, I would think that it is more than a 50-50 chance that he returns in 2017. By 2018, Hanley will be in the last year of his contract with us. I don't see the upside of having him butcher 3 seasons in the OF to get one season of him at DH. Pack him up and ship him off. His bat isn't worth wrecking the defense and putting on his dog show act.
