  1. Our old friend fatty Andy Bailey gave up a 3 run homer to Russell Martin in the 7th with 2 outs. Jays lead the Yanks 4-0. It is huge for the Jays that Stroman is back.
  2. I guess that Porcello just couldn't stand the pressure of having a sub 5 ERA.
  3. Even with Loney the rest can't add up to more than $15 million.
  4. Hanley would've played Bradley's ball into a triple.
  5. Excellent execution on that bunt by Marrero. Even if Loney fielded it cleanly, I don't think anyone would have been covering first base. Fundamentals executed. I am not used to seeing that.
  6. The Rays payroll for their entire offense less Longoria must be less than $8 million
  7. Who the hell are these guys in the Tampa lineup. Seriously, how are they ahead of us in the standings. Only the deepest of fantasy teams i.e leagues of 16 or more have drafted more Rays than Longoria and possibly one other. They stink.
  8. unless it was a young looking Clint Eastwood type, it wasn't me. Lol!
  9. With that double play in the top of the 5th inning, Porcello reduced his ERA to 4.99. Maybe he can salvage some dignity and finish with an ERA under 5.
  10. Castillo looks very comfortable in LF -- good awareness out there -- something that Hanley was incapable of developing.
  11. Shaw cannot protect Ortiz. If Hanley isn't our first baseman, who bats behind Ortiz?
  12. RIP Yogi. Thank you for your service during WWII. He was sent to the Normandy beaches in advance of the D-Day invasion to draw enemy fire to find out the location of the machine gun nests. Truly heroic. As for his baseball accomplihments, as a Red Sox fan, I wish he had opted to sell cars instead of playing baseball when he returned from the war. No one will ever beat his record of 10 rings.
  13. I don't get all the cooing over a guy with a .680 OPS. I think he is a nice ballplayer -- a good hitter and catcher, but this isn't Johnny Bench. If he can headline a package that will get us a top of the rotation pitcher, I would do it in a heartbeat/. Unfortunately, the Mets don't need catchers. They would want Betts or Bogaerts for Harvey. Ron Darling, Mets announcer today said in an interview that the relationship between Harvey and the Mets FO is probably irreparable.
  14. Rocco Baldelli is coaching first base for the Rays, but he can only go 6 or 7 innings tonight, because he coached last night.
  15. At the game mojo! I will drag them from last place kicking and screaming. I need to thank Porcello for my misplaced trust in him and ask him if he knows of a place that will ship beer to Mexico. Lol!
  16. He doesn't have the arm for Fenway's Right Field.
  17. One GM opening has been filled.
  18. If by every year you mean every 5th year, you might be accurate. LOL! You didn't even make the semi-finals. I hope that you play next year. We always need some patsies.
  19. That is your opinion. Don't state it as a fact.
  20. Very nice game by Rich Hill. Too bad about all the injuries in his career. He is 35 years old and has thrown more than 50 innings once since 2008. He is not going to be a contributor next season as a starter.
  21. I have not siad that there would be no interest in him. I said that if he can't land a GM gig this year with all of the openings, that would be very telling. If a 41 year old in the baseball business passes up employment to take a year off to relax, that imo would be a mistake and yes, a stupid mistake.
  22. I didn't want them to lose. I am frustrated that the team has had none of this comeback fight until the time came when it would help the Yankees.
  23. I don't want them to tank.
