  1. If the league took a vote from all the second basemen who played the game, I believe that the new rule would be voted down by a landslide.... and the rule was implemented to protect them. YOTN would you call this irony?
  2. Travis is going to force the issue of his promotion very soon, but dare I say it.... The roster is clogged.
  3. That would be the only reason to do it, but unless he is truly injured, there is no way that Holt told Farrell that he couldn't go today.
  4. Holt is red hot and he sits against a right handed pitcher while he is in the middle of his hot streak.
  5. Farrell being Farrell.
  6. I am very happy about Porcello's outing yesterday, because he did enough to win. As I posted before the game, he could give up a couple of long balls and we would still have a chance to win, and that is what he did. If I am the GM, I would nevertheless be concerned that I have a pitcher who is a sinkerball pitcher who hasn't been able to pitch down in the zone since we got him. It doesn't bode well for him.
  7. i'll take a win anyway we can get it, and i fully expected him to give up a couple of long balls. It is just surprising to me that since we got him, his sinker has been a real stinker. The guy used to live low in the zone when he was a Tiger. He hasn't done that with the Sox, not even in the second half of the season last year.
  8. I am not playing the "what if" game. Some people here thought that he only made a few mistakes that hurt him. I was just making the point that he left a lot of his pitches up in the zone. His pitches were up throughout the game.
  9. Porcello's line was better than his pitching. He left a lot of pitches up. He only got hurt by Bautista and Donaldson. He got away with a lot of other pitches that were up.
  10. A win... a series win... some exciting baseball. I like it.
  11. I guess that Kimbrel will be warming behind Ross. How many runners will Farrell allow Ross in the 9th?
  12. The guy is burying himself.
  13. Shaw is flashing good leather at 1B too.
  14. Pablo is a disgrace. But I am enjoying this team. It is showing that it has tenacity. Hopefully, Pussillo can keep the ball in the park.
  15. Porcello leave way too many pitches up in the zone. He can't succeed up there.
  16. Castillo is making a case for himself.
  17. But his potential...
  18. And there is 2. I win the bet. We can still win this game if Pussillo can stop giving up long balls. He is a bad sinkerball pitcher -- too many Home Run balls.
  19. Shaw is making it such that Panda can just sit on the bench and eat.
  20. But the length of the contracts is very reasonable.
  21. Give him a chance to regress to the mean.
  22. He was just happy that he could get back to his feet.
  23. And there is 1. A Sinker ball pitcher that gives up Home Runs is bad news.
  24. Under/Over for Home Runs against Porcello today is 1.5. I am going with the Over. We can win if he limits them to 2 long balls.
  25. Shaw batting clean up. Interesting.
