  1. He was a prize for Theo
  2. i'll do whatever it takes to win. I'm a team player
  3. Lars was our minor league player of the year at one time
  4. ahem, it is my in game mojo. Credit where it is due.
  5. Maybe we should trade more of our top prospects for knuckleball pitchers?
  6. Nats extend Strasburg for 7 years $175 million.
  7. A no brainier to pick up th option, but they should have traded him after picking up the option.
  8. And then the Mets will clean their clocks in the playoffs. Lol!
  9. YOTN, it is Star Wars night at Fenway. I've got at the game mojo.
  10. Great game. Wright had the Yankees looking helpless. Gardner has been my most hated Yankee for a while. I hope Hanley's arm is okay.
  11. If Obama wants to really accomplish something, he should decree by executive order that Big Papi has to play another year.
  12. A Homer for Papi -- and not a first row special.
  13. That was a Yankee Special -- a first row Home Run in that joke of a ballpark.
  14. He was given a chance. it was his job to lose and he lost it. His character doesn't matter to me. I will not attack it, but that doesn't change my opinion that at this point, Sandoval is a $90 million bag of garbage. That is not a personal attack on him, but commentary on his performance.
  15. Did you read my post? I said that I would have picked up his option and then traded him.
  16. It's harmless to vent and it makes you feel better.
  17. But absolving Pablo of responsibility is irrational, and it needs to be called out every time it is stated.
  18. It's not a question of different levels of development. Vasquez is simply the more gifted receiver. Swihart will never be able to close that gap enough to win the starting job from Vasquez unless he starts hitting like Johnny Bench. And that is not going to happen.
  19. It's no wonder that I can't relate to you -- the generation gap.
  20. And he waited until he secured his financial future before he let himself go completely. That suggests to me that he had some control. People can't time their depressions. I am so sick of everything being called a disorder. The one that really kills me is sex addiction. A friend of mine made a great point. You will never find a single guy in rehab for sex addiction. There isn't a single guy who will ever go to rehab because he is having too much sex with too many women. He might write a book, but he isn't going to rehab. In rehab, you will find married or engaged guys that got caught. For married and engaged guys, it is a condition... an addiction, but single guys are ladies men? As for eating addictions, there are plenty of ways to enjoy food but eat healthy. If self-control is an issue, he had plenty of means and opportunity to hire people to look after his needs at a very small cost. I don't equate being fat with a mental disorder beyond someone's control. He clearly kept it under control until the ink was on the contract. There is no such control with depression or other mental conditions.
  21. I'd give Buchholz $25 million if he could pitch an entire season, but he can't. He has never gotten close to 200 innings. I'd rather have a comparably talented pitcher and pay him $30 million than to have a half year pitcher for $13 million. The hit that a pitching staff takes when its #2 goes down also has a value. Replacing #2 production is not easy and it can cost money and talent. If I had my may, the Red Sox would have picked up Buch's option and then traded him and gone in a different direction.
