  1. R.A. Dickey has been the Jays most reliable starter over the last 3 years logging and average of almost 220 innings each year with a sub 4.00 ERA. That's not bad production. d'Arnaud is a terrible catcher who just can't stay healthy. And Noah was still 2 years away when he was traded. It looks bad going forward, and every team salivates over Thor, but they got what they expected from Dickey.
  2. The Lonborg trade wasn't that bad. We got Tommy Harper and Marty Pattin in return. Pattin was a 17 game winner for the Sox and Harper stole 50 bases.
  3. Good Clay tonight!! And most importantly, we win!!
  4. Ortiz bombs their ace lefty. Time for Young to start hitting lefties.
  5. Young isn't exactly putting good swings on LHP.
  6. What about earmuffs and mittens?
  7. He's the one player in the lineup who is being paid exclusively to hit LHP.
  8. Assumption, projection and speculation.
  9. If Young keeps giving us nothing, I would still consider giving Craig a shot when he comes off the DL. He swung the bat pretty good this spring.
  10. Young with another shot tonight.
  11. His velocity has been gone for a few seasons. He knows how to pitch.
  12. He has logged 35 innings with the Nats since the end of last year. His numbers will be there at the end of the year like they are every year.
  13. We know that he can't hit RHP. We got him primarily to take ABs against LHP. If he keeps taking ohfers against lefties, we should move in a different direction. I'd give Allen Craig a shot.
  14. Sparky Lyle for Danny Cater.
  15. It is easy to cut bait on your predecessor's mistakes. Let's see how much rope he gives Young.
  16. The guy is still good and I think it is delusional to believe that a name could have been drawn from a hat that would have put up the numbers that he has in the last couple of seasons. The other advantage with Papelbon, and it can't be overstated is that you know what you have with him year in and year out. Names out of a hat don't provide that.
  17. If Young isn't getting it done, he is hurting us.
  18. You guys are ridiculous. Papelbon can still pitch. His results will be there at the end of the season. Kimbrel also has 2 Blown Saves. I don't think he is toast either. I spent years hoping that Rivera was toast when he would have early season blown saves with diminished velocity. You need to give it a rest unless you want this Dead Horse topic to resurface each time he saves a game -- which will be quite often.
  19. I agree that we can't put all the blame on him, but he is on the roster primarily as a platoon player who plays against LHP. These are the guys that he is going to see, and he has done nothing thus far. He needs to start producing against these guys. Otherwise, there is no need to have him on the roster.
  20. Young is a beast against LHP. What is our record in Young starts now? This one can't be blamed on Buch. Oh of course the refrain will come that Quintana was dominant and no one could hit him. Young is supposed to hit these lefties, and if he did, their performances wouldn't look so dominant.
  21. This is supposed to be Young's bread and butter.
  22. A Chris Young game... ehh.
