  1. We must be close in age. My first game was in 1966 and I started rooting for the Red Sox in 1967.
  2. By time you were born, Boxmal had watched 1000 more games the you ave watched in your entire life. LOL!
  3. I agree with taking Porcello out after 7 innings and only 80 pitches, but Farrell demonstrates such consistency in his managing.
  4. Ah, softball and beer. The good old days. I miss those days -- 7 years since I hung them up.
  5. He has been the ace of this staff.
  6. We just blew up Greinke's ERA -- 4.17.
  7. Early shower for Greinke! Mookie with another HR -- a 3 run shot.
  8. What a play by Greinke! And Benintendi got a glove and ball sandwich to the mouth,
  9. Pedroia hit and this team scores. It is as simple as that.
  10. Cobb Leon with another hit!!
  11. Porcello carved up those three hitters.
  12. WTH Benintendi! What kind of throw was that?
  13. A trail of bread crumbs and jerk chicken wings leading to a bluff?
  14. The only way that doubleheaders alleviate the scheduling is to have single admission doubleheaders. The day/night double admission doubleheaders doesn't work. Those are very tough on the players. I think the teams should have single admission double headers, but charge a premium for those games -- maybe a 50% premium.
  15. He is available to pinch run today.
  16. The scheduling is ridiculous. In an effort to maximize revenue, the MLB schedule is just ridiculous. There used to be more scheduled doubleheaders -- I think about 5. That added 5 off days into the schedule. It made a huge difference. Teams almost always had an off-day on Monday or Thursday.
  17. He is a terrible manager, but it isn't all his fault, but probably enough to have kept the team from first place.
  18. That is a good point. Theyhad a very low pitch count for Buch.
  19. LOL!! You can't help yourself when it comes to waving the Ben pom poms.
  20. imo, he's a sunk cost. Barring injury to Shaw, I don't see there being any room for Pablo on the roster. I don't know how his tenure will end, but I don't see the possibility of a successful return to the Red Sox roster. He was never a premier 3B defensively or offensively, so I don't see him winning his job back. He is just not that good. His ceiling for a rebound is not that high under the best of circumstances, and I don't see it as being enough to unseat the incumbent.
  21. I wasn't being serious. I was being sarcastic. I think that is part of the skill of managing -- knowing when your guys need a mental or physical break. Mandating breaks isn't the answer. I think this is one of those off the field issues where a manager can make a positive contribution to his team.
  22. Max, keep the discussion about baseball. Knock it off with this s***.
