    It wasn't stupid. I also used to think that we had him on the ropes when he would take those deep breaths. And he would manage to shut us down. Another guy that took those deep breaths looking exasperated all the time was Joe Nathan.

    Price has always had that demeanor on the mound where he takes those big deep breaths. That is not a sign that he is stressed or uncomfortable.

    I would have gone with anyone who has scored a run in the major leagues. Wright has not scored a run since high school. That is a really long time. I'd also pick one of the crappy bullpen guys (who cares if they blow a tire) before I pick a starter. It wasn't a fluke. It was an accident waiting to happen -- and it did.

    It sounds like you had a great day despite the traffic and long trip. I agree about Benintendi, although I don't think farrell agrees with us. Pedey has been vintage this season, even though he is reputedly the 8th worst base runner in baseball. Porcello has been our ace. He is in a great groove.

    And if he gets in a blowout game, maybe he should pitch Betts for an inning to save the bullpen. I am sure that betts probably pitched in High School, which is the last time that Wright scored a run -- and that is a fact.
