Who is the 8th inning guy tonight --Ziegler?

Who will give us the last 4 innings?

He is not going to get ABs from Betts, Bradley or Ortiz. He will only take ABs from Benintendi, andI am not sure that he give us anything additional over Benintendi that would warrant playing him 2-3 times a week.

I think that he has to get consideration. Hopefully Cy Young Joe Kelly doesn't take any votes from him.

Osuna blew a save for the Jays tonight against the Guardians giving up back to back HRs in the bottom of the 9th. The second one was an inside the park HR. Walk off win for Cleveland. Last I looked, Orioles were also losing.

Thank goodness Fulmer pitched a complete game shutout his last time out in 100 degree weather. I would have been shocked if he had the same stuff this start.

Those numbers accumulate a lot of data over a three year period. It is not as if he played in only a handful of games in any of those years. He had combined almost 1,700 Plate Appearances. I would not call that a small sample size because it is expressed in 3 statistics.

This just adds to the list of reasons why I despise Showalter. He is the biggest prick in the game. I hope his team misses the wild card, but I don't want him to get fired, because I would fear that we would hire him. -
keeping Leon's bat in the lineup was a move that I agree with. He is the second hottest bat on the team, but it is against the conventional managers book. Also, it is not apples and oranges from the other night where he kept the hot bat on the bench where he had a much better chance of getting us an insurance run with one inning left.

Even if he maintained the same level of downward trajectory that he had during his SF days, he would still have been a terrible signing.

You can't fault Farrell for going to Taz. He is supposed to be our 7th/8th inning guy. After what he has done recently, he should probably be relegated to lower leverage situations until he gets his act together. Until then we have limited options for high leverage situations. DD may need to pick up somebody. What is Koji's status? Is he definitely out for the season?
