  1. I love progress. I am always living in the moment and planning for the future.
  2. No, I do not. It was the greatest season tht I have seen in my lifetime. I did not need WAR to tell me how great his 1967 season was. The WAR numbers just back up my opinion. I didn't need it, and I have no idea about the accuracy of that measure.
  3. RBI and HRs are accurate. Runs saved is not.
  4. With the Red Sox leading the Division, Camden Yards would normally be packed with Sox fans. That had been the case for years, but after the town got burned to the ground during riots when the Red Sox were in town last years and they told fans not to leave the stadium, Boston fans stopped making the trip.
  5. Tito was no genius either. He might only be 1 neuron ahead of Farrell, but he is my favorite Red Sox manager. I used to shake my head when post game he would say that the game started going fast. What!!???
  6. Yes, I need a stat to tell me that Bradley and Betts are excellent at tracking down flyballs. Who knew!
  7. If Farrell wins another Championship, he will become my second favorite Red Sox manager right behind Tito. My liking him will not make him any smarter. He will still only have 2 working neurons.
  8. Our Roster is vastly superior at this point to what Girardi has in his dugout.
  9. Regardless of the quality of his bullpen, the prick Girardi is a superior manager to Farrell. And no bullpen could ever make Farrell look like a genius.
  10. 89 that is how you are supposed to pitch. Quick enjoyable game.
  11. The mound was lowered for the 1969 season.
  12. He stinks -- a complete 0. I'd rather see Marco play than Hill.
  13. They are getting better yields from Latin America, so they would rather invest the money there. In the white suburbs, the parents pay the freight. The cost in the inner cities is too high to have a thriving program. It is a business and not a social program. Maybe the horseshit corrupt politicians in the inner cities should direct some money toward these programs that build bodies and character instead of handing out free cell phones.
  14. I read an interesting stat the other day. In 1967, Yaz had 12.4 WAR season. That was the highest mark recorded in a season by a position player since Babe Ruth in 1927, and no position player achieved that mark since. Only 2 pitchers have surpassed that season mark -- Steve Carlton in 1972 when he won 27 games and Dwight Gooden in 1985. Yaz's mark of 12.4 has been surpassed only twice in a season by a position player -- both times by Babe Ruth. Whenever people talk about Yaz's 1967 season they talk about the final 2 weeks, but the entirety of his season was remarkable.
  15. Koji can still look good, but at his age the consistency may not be there. Also, he was lucky that Sanchez didn't elevate the pitch he hit for a single. It was a meatball.
  16. LOL!! Let's hope not.
  17. Pom has lost his command his last 2 times out which could be an indicator of fatigue.
  18. Some of her insights are good, and she obviously does her homework, but she cannot fill Schillings shoes when it comes to insights about pitching. The whole Sunday broadcast team is a bore.
  19. Still a doofus, but if they win in the post season, he will be my favorite doofus.
  20. He did a good job this weekend.
  21. For the JF lovers, he managed this series well. Whether or not they won those come from behind games, he gave them a chance to win by not sticking too long with faltering pitchers. Seven run rule be damned!
  22. And there is the Sweep!!! a 4 game sweep!! They are really playing like a good team this weekend. They came from behind. They were resilient and they had an indomitable look about them. That was a lot of fun to watch.
  23. Whew!!! Dodged a bullet with Sanchez.
