Pablo as DH? Gagging and vomiting.

In the 17 years after the color line was broken (1947-1963), the Yankees won 10 World Championships and played in 14 of the 17 World Series.

With less talent available, it shrinks the margin for error and makes the job more difficult. Your argument just doesn't hold water.

I agree. I see no point to signing him to a 6 year deal at this time. I don't see the possibility of such a deal saving the Red Sox much money or extending his time with the Red Sox by much.

Why would white only baseball make their job any easier?

    When would Betts hit FA?

Good memory on the rules. We used to flip cards too. If you matched the other kid's combination of heads and tails, you won all the cards.

I think he will be traded at some point.

I would trade them to you for player cards.

GM baseball cards -- bicycle spoke material.

Have you given up all hope of having a better past?

Do you collect FO trading cards?

I have always been amused/annoyed at the prospect of someone telling me that I am not open-minded because I don't agree with them, especially when they show no willingness to listen to my arguments. What is more annoying are those people who think they know what my opinion will be with regard to a hypothetical situation. I don't even know myself.

I think it is a top priority to acquire a premier bat to anchor the lineup and replace Big Papi. Bogey is very streaky and still has not show consistent power. Bradley has prolonged slumps. Betts is great, but he needs protection. I'd make the move to get Encarnacion.

I am like you in that I root for team on the field, not the one wearing suits. I don't care who those people are and for the most part I would not know who they were if I passed them on the street. Maybe I am just old school. LOL!

We almost had Bernie Williams. They Yankees did not want to pay him, but when Boss Steinbrenner found out that he would be signing with us, they paid him.

    The Cubs

Lester and Lackey are three time champions. Some guys are just winners, and it is nice to have them in your rotation.

He didn't grow up as a Cubs fan.

I never said that Ben should leave if he had no authority to overrule LL, never mind saying it many times. Please don't put words in my mouth and then attribute those words to me "many times". Second, if I was working in my dream job as GM for my favorite team -- the Boston Red Sox, I would not leave the job voluntarily under any circumstances that I can imagine. Theo grew up as a Red Sox fan, and he turned his back on his dream job.

    Mike Stanley

    That does paint a picture.
