When Kendrick was at the top of his game, he was little more than a punching bag who needed a big offense playing behind him.

The longer they play exciting come from behind ball the more they will believe in themselves. It happened in 2013 for the Red Sox. They were good, but on paper that team should not have gone wire to wire.

My point is that Tanaka and Severino caught us when we were cold. Severino is not very good and Tanaka is very good, but he is not Pedro masterful like he was that night. Your team is on a good run, but they are not that good. The danger is that they will start to believe in themselves and a winning attitude can't be underestimated. Talent-wise-- they are a 4th place team.

Yep, not resigning him was a huge mistake. letting him go, moving Youk to 3rd and getting AGon (while losing Rizzo) was a huge unnecessary misstep by Theo.

Part of his problem last year had to be his knee. A little guy who throws that hard needs healthy pegs.

And just as it wasn't the real Tanaka who was pitching with a lead and challenging hitter, it was not the real Tanaka who was mowing down the helpless Red Sox lineup that was mired in a horrific slump.

He is an outstanding fielder. He would solve the defense problem at 3B.

His ERA in Pawtucket was 6 ish and he gave up 7 Home Runs.

The guy is lights out when he throws strikes, and even when he is not right, he is better than most. Margot is the only prospect who has made it to the majors at this juncture and he had no place in our OF. DD usually has a good record for trading away prospects who never amount to much. Right now, Moncada has one distinction and it involves eating Twinkies.

You are right that he has been terrible since the injury. That is true. Prior to his injury, his numbers were pretty good for a back of the rotation guy. Thanks Farrell.
