LOL!! High tech. The FO will pour over his stats, but give him a half assed medical exam. Just a bit stupid. It would be like all the engineers inspecting a plane and clearing it for proper maintenance, but forgetting to gas it up.
That is because it doesn't take you very long to spot stupid. A lot of people gave him a pass for that and everything else. It was upsetting to watch 2 of those starting pitchers win a World Series for the Cubs when a competent GM would have kept them on the Red Sox.
I appreciate all the drilling into the numbers for clues and the conclusions that things will turn around unless the dreaded "enigma" rears its head. However, there is an element that gets overlooked and I don't know if it is quantifiable. That is that good teams figure out a way to win games and bad teams find new ways to lose games.
Earlier in the week, the Giants played a 15 or 16 inning game and by the end it looked like there were more Seagulls at the stadium than fans. I stopped watching because it became very annoying and distracting that the Gulls were flying in front of the center field camera.
Run Mookie that is fine. He should always have the green light, but we have some slugs. Running into outs on the bases is not the best way to produce runs.
