He wasn’t denied the shot. He got some significant time catching at the beginning. Then they put him in LF and he got hurt and healed slow. There has been nothing unfair about his shot. He got a shot, but was very unprepared to be a MLB catcher. Then he ran out of options. His development has been slow and it was further slowed by his injury. He’s 26 years old.
At the game mojo. Got to my seats for Beny’s AB.
JD is one strong hitter. I’ve seen him hit 3 HRS in 4 games @ Fenway— 1 to RF, 1 th LF and tonight to CF. All no-doubters.
Dick O'Connell drafted Hurst and Tudor. O'Connell may have had the best eye for talent of any GM in my lifetime. He drafted Hurst in the first round in 1976 and Tudor in the third round of the same year. After that, our pitching pipeline was sparse and sporadic at best.
He has no options left. I don’t see him sticking at the MLB level with anyone. He has no defensive position, and he doesn’t hit enough to be a DH. Eventually, he will have to accept an assignment to the minors.
The wrist and subsequent other injuries quickly took their toll on Nomar, but he generated more fan excitement than anyone since his early days with the team.
The last Yankee Dynasty was fueled by roids. They were walking around the locker room with needles sticking out of their asses and hypocrite Joe Torre saw nothing ... and now he is the conscience of the game. What a joke!!
