  1. Congratulations to bkzwhitestrican on the 2022 league Championship. Your team was the class of the league in 2022. Also, Congratulations to Hugo who won his division and was the runner up. Hopefully, you will be back again to defend your titles in 2023.
  2. Wink’s metrics are horrible. He’s awful, and he was the sleeper in the Benintendi trade. LOL!
  3. Stinkowski is in. It’s only downhill from here and it is already 7-0. And we don’t have Plawecki to pitch in these games anymore.
  4. And Correa is an expert cheater too.
  5. I agree with that.
  6. No, I haven’t made a determination on German after 1 inning. He hasn’t been given much of a look, so I don’t think they will be looking for him to make a big MLB contribution in 23.
  7. Maybe you feel better about 23 than I do. Hopefully, Bloom makes some acquisitions that will make me more positive.
  8. The only one that I overlooked was Wong who is the regular backup catcher with Vasquez gone. I like his power and athleticism. I didn’t mention the others, because Wink stinks and leads the league in hard contact — not a bright spot. I wish I could ignore Ort. Seabold and German haven’t had much of an opportunity to show anything and they haven’t seized the day with those opportunities. Basically, we have seen Bello, Cassas and Wong as a glimpse of future players.
  9. I like Cassas’s swing and approach. He is one of the bright spots. Refsnyder is a journeyman type. Crawford has not impressed me much. Whitlock took a step backward this year and ended up on the IL. Bello has a live arm, but is not MLB ready. He is a bright spot, but I am not looking for him to carry a major load in 23. Schreiber is a bullpen guy and a crapshoot for 23. Pivetta isn’t a new player for the Red Sox. I like Story, but not at the expense of Bogey.
  10. The instant gratification group that waited until age 45 to see a championship
  11. Sure it does, but a precipitous backslide is alarming to me. There have been no positive developments in the 2022 season for the 2023 MLB team.
  12. I didn’t act like you are saying. I said that I have read that Bloom has greatly improved our farm, but I asked when we could see it help at the MLB level. I haven’t see it in August and September at the MLB level. I think it is a legitimate question.
  13. He was never in charge in Tampa, and they have done just fine without him.
  14. Why would I mention Whitlock when discussing prospects coming down the pike. He was with the 21 team for the full season. He has had 2 full seasons. He isn’t new.
  15. What about the Mets missing deGrom for more than half a season and Max Scherzer for about 1/3 of the season, or the Dodgers losing Bauer for a whole season and Buehler, and missing Kershaw for long periods too and now missing Gonsolin for 5 weeks.
  16. I am not ignoring anything. I am also not imagining this last place finish or the lack of Major League readiness of prospects to help this team next season. I asked when we can expect to see help from the farm. If the answer is that is is hard to tell, that is not something that keeps a fan base happy.
  17. But the plan is apparently for sustainability. Three consecutive Division crowns is not some people’s idea of sustainability.
  18. Those guys had a long track record of success. Bloom has no such track record and the performance of the team has gone drastically backwards.
  19. I have heard that Bloom has greatly improved our farm system. We are finishing last, so I was hoping to see some help from the farm show up to help out for next year. When do you project that this will happen under Bloom’s plan?
  20. Agreed. The “But what about all the injuries?” excuse carries little weight with me.
  21. Do you think this has any chance of working out?
  22. Maybe we can rehire Benny. He’s lighting it up with 4 consecutive last place finishes with the Pirates. That is his specialty. Oh, but he has a 5 year plan, so let’s see how that works out. Many like his approach. He had 3 last place finishes with the Red Sox in 4 seasons and 7 of 8 in his career. That is quite a record, but he has learned to finish last much more cheaply.
  23. You are entitled to your opinion. They finished last. That is on Bloom and Cora and Kennedy. Easily replaceable. Fungible executives. Buh Bye. That is what I would do if I was ownership.
  24. The 22 Red Sox are playing out the string in last place. I keep reading that Bloom has built up our farm, but down the stretch the only prospects getting any experience are Cassas (hitting .150) and Bello without impressive results. Where is the future. Duran only loses value as he plays more at the MLB level. Downs is a complete bust, so they don’t dare expose him any more. Who from the farm is ready to step up next season and contribute?
  25. players who underperform don’t stick around unless they are under multi-year contracts. The FO guys and the manager are even easier to replace. Bloom has had 3 years. Cora got 3 extra seasons for his championship. IMO, it is time to change the personnel at the top. Sam Kennedy hasn’t made a great case for staying either. Buh Bye.
