  1. In 1995 he hit over .300 with a .425 OBP. The next year his power production went up. In 1997 he got injured and was out of the game. I think there was a strong possibility that he would have become an All Star.
  2. How would they use him? Who would sit for him to play? I think that it is more likely that he is trade bait if they can get a team to part with a top starter.
  3. SS is his natural position. He has played there his entire life. It's like second nature for him. If he went back to SS, he would n't be obsessing about his footwork and arm angle, because he could just rely on the muscle memory that he developed over 20+ years of palying the position since childhood. It might allow him to clear his mind and just perform.
  4. I am just curious how many Yankee fans on these boards are also Mets fans. Can someone post a pole? I live in NY, and the people that tell me they root for both the Yankees and the Mets usually know nothing about baseball and never watch a game. 26, do you also root for the Rangers and the Islanders?
  5. I guess you got me. I'm not really a Red Sox fan. Traveling to SOx Spring Training every year, going to Philly, Fla, and Baltimore to see away games this year, it's all been a cover. I've been lying to myself all along. Listening to staticky radio stations for years before there was an MLB package and going to Fenway for 39 years was just an excuse for my true passion -- hating the Yankees. Do you realize the ridiculousness of your theory? Your posts would be laughable if the amount of personal animus in the posts wasn't so disturbing.
  6. Maybe he had sex with the cleaning lady.
  7. Ortiz has two types of Homers-- the high towering shots and the gunshot liners. I don't know which is more impressive.
  8. I think Pena hurt the ball when it hit him.
  9. Welcome Raven!
  10. Beckett is throwing more hooks. He was probably saving his arm earlier in the season by throwing mainly fastballs.
  11. Unlike the obnoxsious Yankee fan, I don't go looking for Yankee fans to insult. They come to Red Sox boards looking for my insults. I think you are obsessed with me. Sicko!
  12. For goodness sakes go back on your meds.
  13. Manny being Manny to Right Field.
  14. The Yankees used a lot of Pen tonight. They'll need Moose to go at least 7 tomorrow.
  15. Although, Beckett on the road against a .500 + team is a recipe for a loss, the enormous foul territory could help Beckett who gets a lot of fouls on his high cheese.
  16. Unless they could land Smoltz.
  17. Wells looked good in a 5 inning simulated game. Edes says that he'll probably be making a rehab start this weekend, and if everything works out well, he could be in the rotation next week.
  18. Maybe he has been hanging around with Giambi.
  19. The prima dona, Jeter hates ARod's guts.
  20. I hope the Yankees get him so Ortiz can pummel him again, and Gordon can throw up in the bullpen before coming in to face Ortiz.
  21. Well, if Torre wasn't upset about getting pounded on Sunday, then he must have been sitting too close to that big steaming pile of s***, Ponson. As far as your comments about getting a life and accusing me of being obsessed with the Yankees, let me remind you that it is you, a Yankee fan, that is a member of a Red Sox message board. You wouldn't catch me on a Yankee board. So, who is obsessed with whom, you worthless little dickwad?
  22. You were still steamed at 3:45 a.m.? Wow! Losses really stick with you.
  23. In trhe post game interview, Mussina was less than supportive of ARod. He said something to the effect that he did not know what was wrong with him, but they needed him to be the way he used to be.
