    I am so glad that we have him through 2008, and that we let Damon and Pedro walk. We re-signed Tek when AJ could have been signed for chump change. AJ has a World Championship and we have a catcher that can't throw out another catcher.

    Pedro looked shaky in the first inning tonight in his return to the mound. He gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, but in typical Pedro fashion he only gave up 1 more hit in his next 5 innings. He also retired the last 12 Braves that he faced. I miss Pedro. If he was still in the Sox rotation, the Sox would be favored to go all the way with a top 3 of Schilling, Beckett and Pedro. Losing Pedro may have actually cost us the Dynasty that so many members of these boards think is in our future. If we had Pedro starting game 1 of the ALDS instead of Clement, the whole post season could have been different. Let's face it, if you could get by the White Sox, you had a great chance of going all the way. I always think that when Pedro walked any chance of multiple Championships went with him.

    Don't get your shorts in bunch. He should be fine, but he is not yet a #3 pitcher, nevermind an ace. Unfortunately, right now he is the #3, and too many people are okay with that. He slots into the #5 slot quite nicely. Management has to make sure that the team has a #3 and 4 to slot in. Apparently they are sold on Wells being the #3. I am skeptical. The Yanks # 3 has 12 wins. Ours has zero.

    Two bad outings in a row for Lester. We should wait a while before we annoint him as ace or savior.

    Lee DH'd for Texas tonight went 2 for 4 and the Rangers got spanked by KC.

    Wang now is 12-4. Not bad for a #3 starter. We have a 2 starters and prayers. Our rotation is not as good as the Yankees right now. Not by a long shot. And this may come as a surprise, but with the exception of Papelbon, our bullpen is no great shakes either. I think the Second Place cafe will have a new occupant very soon.
